Athletes don’t get to go on vacations :)
Let me be clear here, I am not saying you shouldn’t ever take a break or go on a trip with your family. What I am saying is…while you are at Disney, or wherever you go, you are still an athlete. If you want to outperform others, you will need to find ways to get your training in even when you are on “vacation”. For me this is where Identity is crucial. If you actually identify as an athlete, then everywhere you go and everything you do, is done through the lens of a high performing athlete. Where do we all stand on this one…I am curious?

Oh yeah, this reminds we when we talked about the "dont break the chain" concept. Me personally, I take the vacation time to physically and mentally recover and do a lot of recovery work. Other than that, I try to get some touches in with the ball and watch a lot of matches to analyse them.
Discipline trumps motivation…Every Time! (MODIFIED)
**Apparently the RKC plank I chose for this original challenge aggravates a disc issue I have in my lumbar spine right now so I had to change it up a bit. For the next 90 days I will be doing a "core mobility" challenge. Simple setup below: 1) Pick a move you like that challenges your core and get after it. 2) 30 seconds on / 30 seconds off for 5 rounds 3) Share your experience in the comments 4) Repeat for 90 days 5) Thank me later 👊 How to do the RKC plank from the original challenge: 1. Forearms on floor 2. Elbows under shoulders 3. Feet together 4. Squeeze glutes 5. Pull elbows toward toes 6. Brace abs like someone is punching you 7. Hold 10-20 seconds hard, rest equal, repeat. 8. 5 rounds Who is with me…? If you want to join, leave a comment every day as soon as you log your last rep. Bonus: add some positive reinforcement for others to stick with it.

@Anthony Patierno I will try that today
The brain likes routines 🧠 🔁
And for me right now that means a little late night Rebel Coffee Chip Ice cream while I work on building some tools for all of you. I am curious... What routine do you have in place right now that just makes you feel good?

Just an extra 5-10 minute session with the ball makes me feel good on days I don't have the time or mindset to train
If you had a magic wand…
What aspect of your youth sports journey would you use it on and why?

I would use it on my distribution because it affects my game the most. If I improved it, my game would be much more better

@Anthony Patierno yessir! Sorry didn't realize it was for the parents
The 3 W's
For many athletes and parents the weekend can be a stressful collection of thoughts and emotions. Game days, weekend training, balancing family and sports, are just a few of the things that can contribute to that. First remember, in here NOGA. Second, try out this system for staying in line with your identity and getting the most out of your weekend together: ❓WHAT: What do you have to do this weekend, specifically, to look back and call it a successful and enjoyable experience? 👊 WHO: Who do you have to show up as to stay in line with your IDENTITY and get closer to your DREAM OUTCOME. ⭐ WHY: Why does it matter to you? Remind yourself WHY you are doing this and WHY it is important to stay connected as a parent/player team to make that happen. Simple SYSTEMS like starting your weekend with the 3 W's can have compounding results over very short periods of time.

WHAT: I have to win my games this weekend and possibly a clean sheet WHO: I have to be a resilient, composed, and patient player who does not get affected by pressure or times of tension WHY: This matters to me because every little effort like winning my games on the weekends compounds into much bigger things. It is also important to stay connected as a player to give myself the best chance of winning the games over the weekend.
