Floral corset project
Hi everyone, here is one version of this finished look. I had to redo my floral corset top and this is how it came out. I am so in love with it. This is the skirt that I will be wearing with the corset. I love this whole outfit, what do you think? Should I do pants as well? Should I do a short hoop shirt or tulle skirt underneath?

Floral corset top and matching skirt for the win 🙌🏾 This outfit is so ready for summer vibes and a girls night out. I'm obsessed 😍 I would say a tulle skirt in any of the flower colours underneath the main skirt would be nice but I would also try a plain black skirt first to give options and simplicity. I'm actually thinking the black tulle skirt first now because the flowers are the main character so if you put another colour underneath the skirt it would distract the eyes away from the beauty of the skirt if you get what I mean. You can test it by just putting different coloured fabric underneath your skirt to see what instantly looks nice to confirm your next move

✨ Keep Experimenting — Push Your Concept Further! ✨
Now is the time to experiment as much as possible from your design concept. Go back to your original point of reference and ask yourself: How can I transform this into something new? Think about silhouettes, surface detail, techniques, texture, proportion and anything that can inspire an innovative design. I want you all to drape as much as possible. Use fabric, test shapes, pin ideas, and explore volume. Then develop your drape images further by printing them out, sticking them into your sketchbook, and drawing onto them to visualise what the full final design could become. This is where exciting ideas are discovered — through trial, play, and process. Keep exploring, keep experimenting, and don’t hold back. I’ll be posting a few examples shortly 🔥 💬 What have you done this week to experiment with shape, surface, or technique? Share your work below for a shout out ✨

WEEK 3 CHECKLIST REMINDER – EXPERIMENTATION CHECKLIST + SHARE YOUR WORK!
✅ WEEK 3 – DID YOU COVER THESE BASES? We explored the fun, fearless side of fashion creation this week – make sure you’ve pushed yourself to experiment widely: - Mark Making: Tried at least 3 different techniques (e.g., ink washes, charcoal, digital tools) to explore textures and patterns for your concept - Draping: Played with fabric on a dress form or mannequin – tested how different materials fall, fold and create shape - Mixed Media Collage: Combined diverse elements (photos, fabrics, paper, paint) to visualize your ideas in new ways - Colour Combinations: Experimented with palettes beyond your first instinct – tested how hues interact and support your theme - Textile Samples: Created at least 2 small fabric samples (e.g., printing, embroidery, weaving, distressing) to bring your ideas to touchable life 💡 KEY REMINDER-BE BOLD – THERE ARE NO WRONG EXPERIMENTS! The best designs often come from the most unexpected attempts. We want you to explore lots of options – even the "failed" tests can hold hidden gems that will elevate your final work. 📢 TIME TO SHARE! Don’t be shy – Let's see your best experiment - Your single favourite experiment (tell us why it worked for you!) - One surprise discovery you made along the way - A photo/snap of your work – we want to see all the messy, wonderful creative process! Drop a 🎨 in the comments below once you’ve shared – let’s celebrate all the incredible exploration happening in our community!
