Intermittent fasting has been a huge support for me in my decade long history with food addiction. We share lots of other tools and ideas as well, such as Emotional Brain Training and Hypnotherapy. Having balanced blood sugar and creating insulin sensitivity in my body has helped me decrease the food noise immensely and get rid of unwanted cravings. We are here rooting for you!

@Jenny Rader-Bakos is going wild making faux tofu, over in her group Rooted and Wild https://www.skool.com/rooted-wild-1016/about?ref=660b18d65db44bf79f7dc730539dbb20 Last week, she showed everyone how to make faux tofu from red lentils. I still have to do that one, but I have my lentils now! This week, it was Pumfu. Her classes are so fun and practical and easy to follow!

Stop Unwanted Cravings and Emotional Eating
The art of Courting…YOURSELF
I used to HATE sauerkraut. I thought it was weird and mysterious, and it sort of smelled like a fart. Who’d wanna eat something that smells like a FARt?! Then, I listened to different naturopaths and gut experts and realized how incredibly beneficial sauerkraut is for the gut. I got COuRTEd into liking sauerkraut. Nobody forced me to eat it or said I had better eat it or else, I simply got excited about the healing benefits of sauerkraut for the gut. I now eat sauerkraut at almost every meal, enjoy it immensely, and break many of my fasts with it, along with some protein, since it helps to replenish my good gut bacteria. The truth is…you can also court YOURSELF… you don’t have to WAIT for a doctor or expert to say JUST the right thing in just the right way so you can get excited about doing the things you feel you “should” be doing. We do it all the time, courting ourselves in one form or another. We convince ourselves to go this way or that, considering pros and cons. Many of us do this unconsciously, but what if we brought more consciousness to the ART of courting ourselves? What if we courted ourselves to keep moving towards our dreams and goals, rather than spending most of our time scrolling social media, binging on Netflix shows, and feeling stuck in our lives? What if we decided to eat more sauerkraut instead of reaching for the quick, easy, but arguably more hurtful choice of more cookies, chips, pizza, or ice cream when hungry? We can always have the cookie later, if we choose to…the fiber and probiotics in the sauerkraut will actually help the body absorb nutrients from the cookie better and prevent the blood sugar from spiking. We are likely to eat LESS cookies when we’re full of sauerkraut, veggies, fruits, or high quality meats. Can you think of a time when you courted yourself into something beneficial for you, and then felt really good about it? Or a time you courted yourself into something that didn’t feel very good? What’s something you’d like to court yourself into exploring or doing more?

@Lesley Christine I can imagine how happy your gut was with your choice of snack! That may be why your kids aren't picky eaters...you gave them such good food for their gut microbes!!
