♥️ Safe - it is very important to feel safe around the person who helps you to release trauma. People must feel safe to open themselves. In my community I want people to feel not only seen 🌿 but also feel that they belong 🤗
This Weekend, what are you up to?
I am a bit behind on the visibility challenge this weekend. That is because I am having a super busy weekend. Yesterday we went to our local Christmas market in the morning and Hector got to make some reindeer food. I then had an interlude to watch Arsenal play, which was not fun. In the afternoon and evening we had our towns Christmas Light Up which is a bit different. We don't have lights through the town but instead the kids build lanterns for the event. Then during the evening everyone parades through town with their lanterns including some giant ones. I've attached some pictures. Today we are meeting up with my brother and his family as they are away fro Christmas, so I have not had much bandwidth for anything else. What are you up to this weekend?

Surviving Trauma
April 2021 was when my world changed, literally overnight. My husband passed away suddenly in front of me on the kitchen floor. I had to learn to navigate my way through the initial raw stages of Grief and the Trauma that came from that night. I learnt that Grief never goes away, its always there humming away in the background ready to overwhelm me with something that reminds me of that night. I didnt realise at the time, the trauma I had experienced. The effect it would have on me. I experienced Anger, immense sadness, intermingled with moments of despair at the loss of what do I do now? I went to see a grief counsellor, she helped me get through the first few months, then went back a couple of years later to someone else, because she had moved locations. I have taken on new hobbies, and now give support to other widows who may need a bit of encouragement and knowing they arent alone.💙

I’m sending you a big hug 🤗 and thank you for sharing your experience. I know how deeply a traumatic event can impact someone’s health, mental well-being and their whole life. I’ve experienced it myself, and I’ve seen how much my life has changed through trauma work. I’m so glad you took action and chose to take care of yourself.🫶xo
Hello from Indiana 👋🏼
Hi, I’m Melissa, Mel for short 🤍 I’m a 48yo single homeschooling mom-prenuer. I have a 17yo son with a chronic illness. I am a former mental health and addictions therapist, spent 13 years in the corporate world and now doing transformation coaching and healing work as the formal system is not designed for true healing. As suggested... 🧘‍♀️ My favorite spiritual practice right now is journaling, working with crystals, and pulling oracle cards for clarity and grounding. 🌿 A tool I love working with is crystal energy and intuitive insight to support emotional healing and self-awareness. ✨ My focus this month is working through a little imposter syndrome as I feel slightly overwhelmed here on Skool and continuing to build and grow with confidence and trust. Grateful to be here and connect with like-minded souls ✨ 💜Mel
