Clone assistant?!
I'm currently finishing up another course before I start this one, and I feel like I just made an important connection in terms of getting a tool you're using to make decisions as close to how you would. Has anyone gone through the process of "cloning" themselves into a tool like that, where it kind of interviews you and figures out exactly how you like things done? I've heard this talked about in some other communities and pieces of content I've seen, and was just curious if anyone else has tried it out. Would love to know your experience and if you’ve noticed any improvements in the output following that process.

@Daisy Evans I completely agree. I had a thought earlier today that I feel like a lot of people that don’t get the results they are looking for, it's because they are looking to AI as if it's the all-knowing, all-powerful, and superior to them in a sense; when instead you have to talk to it and use it almost in the complete opposite manner. The more I challenge it and never just accept what it says as law, trusting in my own self-confidence, I get the best possible results. But yeah, it seems like some people have had positive results in a sense of having to give less context by going through this whole "cloning" process. So I’m definitely curious

@Daisy Evans I absolutely agree with you, my best and main use case for it, up until now before starting to dive deeper, has been it’s essentially my brainstorming buddy. But yeah, you’re right it’s collaborative. It’s like when you do agree with it and feel like you’re getting good ideas. it’s important to go deeper. You gotta like force it to unravel the thread. You know, peel the onion.
1st App done! Whoa…
Completed a HABIT Tracking app. “Set your daily HABITS you want to improve on and let the 8th wonder of the world, COMPOUND INTEREST , prosper you in achieving goals and creating new BETTER habits. OPTION MENU Displays your analytics from results of a week, month, quarter, etc. Steps: 1. told Claude chat what I wanted. I said it needs to be a free setup, no subscriptions or fees to start and it recommended I use GitHub, vercel and Supabase. This is to store the data it records when users check off tasks for their daily habits and tracks results. I wanted Oauth so people can login with email. Daily quotes revolving in the ui to keep up motivation. 2.told Claude chat to make me a plan to effectively build this organized and as a pro engineer. 3. Converted the chat into a short Claude Md file and a context file. 4.told it to give me a pro CS Eng folder structure and save it to my docs. 5. Pushed it to git hub and I told it to build. All from VScode we went to work…. And had more than 50% worth of tokens left, as I even used it for other ideas while it was building out task app. This was amazing. Thank you @Jake Van Clief !!! Looking forward to more content of yours. Now time to work on the UI.

Small Win
Hey Everyone, Just wanted to share a small win for me today. I managed to secure my first sit down with a possible client today. I got talking to our contract manager at work today just general chit chat talking about his role and what it entailed. We got onto how late he has to work and how it was hard on the family so so forth. I said to him what if i could give you that time back through implementing software that did a lot of the heavy lifting when it comes to office admin. he laughed and asked how was that I explained lv learned how to use AI to build systems we went back and forth a bit about AI talking about where it might lead and such and I'm not going to lie basically regurgitated Jakes classes stating things like how its now to have a hand carved rifle will set you back a small fortune but way back when you would of been looked down on, I spoke about the part about human desire and how that will always be there. He was completely taken back to him I was now not just a vet and a carpenter I was the future and Iv been asked to come to the office tomorrow to sit down and talk. I know its only a sit down and nothing confirmed but when i first approached them i was basically laughed out the office and given work via what's app but that small amount of knowledge might be the reason my life changes for the better. So thank you @Jake Van Clief .for giving this course away and helping complete beginners like me a fighter chance of a better future.

Stuff like this is fantastic to read. Great job. I know I'm new here, and this is only meant to be encouragement, so let me first and foremost say I hope this turns into real revenue for you and fast. Absolute worst-case scenario, if it does fall through, I would encourage you to get out there immediately and find someone else you could pitch on a problem you could solve for them, because selling yourself like that can be the hardest part, AI skills aside. Every little failure just builds that resiliency and gives you a thicker skin, but yeah, I hope that isn't too much in the realm of unsolicited advice. Amazing job and congrats,Keep grinding, and you'll get there, guaranteed. 👏🏼👏🏼
Who's here? Drop your intro.
Tell us three things: 1. What you do (job, industry, student, career-changer, whatever) 2. What brought you to Clief Notes 3. One thing you're trying to figure out right now related to computing or AI I'll respond to every single one. And read each other's intros too because the person who's stuck on the same problem as you might already be in this thread. I'll go first I am Jake, I have been working in tech for 15 Years, building with Generative AI for 3 Years straight now! Excited to teach and learn! That's it. Simple, scannable, gives you data on who's joining and what they need, and keeps the feed clear for content that retains people past week one.
