Hey guys, I am planning on going to Spain in the summer to live with a host family and help them with anything they need helping with (babysitting, gardening, pet sitting etc etc). I am still looking at host families on different websites but I was wondering the best places to live are for learning Spanish? I like areas that aren't too touristy, have some countryside, a beach nearby, and a nice community. Muchas gracias!

Do you guys recommend any Spanish movies or shows to watch to immerse myself in Spanish?

That's it for Layer 1, and it has been great so far! Don't get me wrong, there are some things I already knew (the very basics) but I have also learnt a lot. Something I like that I have learnt in particular is the use of the work ENCANTADO, with literally means enchanted and is used to basically say that it is nice to meet someone. When someone says this to you, you can reply with the word IGUALMENTE which means likewise/same. I will definitely be using this in the future!

Hey, my name is Tyler and I am learning Spanish here. I have tried multiple times for years on end to learn Spanish; Duolingo, Babbel, Dreaming Spanish, Flashcards, Books.. you name it. Although many have helped with my progress, I end up feeling demotivated as I can't actually end up speaking. I recognise that learning a whole new language takes time and dedication, and I shouldn't just be able to speak fluently in such a small amount of time, but I am hoping this course can help me to feel like I am making progress to reaching a 5-10 minute conversation in Spanish.
