Crate Training
Crate training is an important and beneficial practice for dogs and their owners, serving as a fundamental aspect of a dog's training and wellbeing. Crate training, when done correctly, reinforces good behavior, supports a dog's natural instincts, and enhances the bond between dogs and their owners by establishing trust and understanding. It's not about confinement but about creating a safe space for the dog, with the crate acting as a tool for training, safety, and comfort. Here are five tips you can start implementing today: 1) Feed your pup in the crate. 2) Cover up the crate and/or crate your pup in a separate room. 3) Periodically crate your pup while you're still home. 4) Give your pup a special (and safe) toy or chew that they only get in their crate. 5) Teach your pup to go into the crate, lay down and wait to be released from the crate. By following these tips, you can ensure crate training becomes a positive and beneficial experience for your dog, reinforcing safety, comfort, and training support.

🎄 Holiday Reminder for Dog Owners 🎄
If your house feels a little chaotic with family, kids, food, and constant movement… there is nothing wrong with keeping a leash on your dog. A leash isn’t a failure. It’s not “giving up.” It’s management — and management is good training. During the holidays: - People come and go - Boundaries get blurry - Dogs get overstimulated - Routines disappear - Yummy food gets dropped! Keeping a leash on your dog gives you: ✔️ Calm control without constant correcting ✔️ A way to redirect before things escalate ✔️ Less stress for you and your dog ✔️ A chance for your dog to succeed instead of rehearse bad habits The goal isn’t perfection during Christmas. The goal is peace. If you’re hosting this week, keep it simple: Leash on. Clear expectations. Calm praise. Your future training will thank you.
