Claude Code Applied to Construction
So Claude Code has been getting a lot of hype recently And I have to be 100% honest, it did not disappoint What is it and why does it matter for construction? Claude code lets you build and run code. All you do is express what you want in plain english, and Claude will build it for you "I want to build a tool that pulls my accounting data from Qucikbooks and compares it to my project estimates to determine my planned vs actual cost" "I want to build a tool that checks my email daily and flags any commercial issues." "Everytime I get a new tender, I want you to download it and update my CRM" Literally describe what you want and Claude will build it for you. You can then run these workflows over and over again as needed I have built some really useful tools over the last couple of weeks. Basically anytime you are moving data between software, databases, you can automate this with claude code. Very cool Here is a video demo, if people want to support the channel, like and comment, it helps the algorithm!

Introduce Yourself
I'm keen to hear who everybody is, and what their goals are I assume you already know who I am. But if you don't I'm Tim. I worked for 8 years for big contractors on road, rail, renewable energy projects. I've always worked for head-contractors. I recently worked for some smaller contractors as a consultant when I left my job doing estimating and contract management. It was good, but I found it hard to see a path to scale (other than just starting a contracting business myself) So I instead decided to build software, and found that that's 100x harder than I thought and a very easy way to lose money
