The Mystery Yokealong is back!
Our Mystery KAL is officially back for year three! We’re knitting a top-down round yoke sweater (or a steeked cardigan) together over seven weekly clues, kicking off on January 16th. This year, we’re leaning into stash-busting, so feel free to start hunting through your yarn collection now. You can get all the details on the Ravelry pattern page or here on Skool in the dedicated Classroom where I’ll also be posting all the relevant video tutorials as clues become available. We’d love for you to jump in and share your yarn picks, questions, and progress photos. Just use the "MYAL 2026" category for your posts. Heads up: we aren’t doing spoiler alerts this time, so feel free to post away in whatever way you like just as long as it is in that category! I can’t wait to see what you all come up with this year.

@Tiffany Cavegn lots of us fluffy knitters around. For me, the upper bust measurement to pick a size is important for a good fit. If there isn't a lot of positive ease in the pattern, I just add a little more when casting on under the arms at the split for sleeves. I've made a bunch of Zanete's sweaters now. My first was last year's mystery yoke along. I didn't trust the pattern, I went up a size, went too long (beyond the pattern suggested) before splitting for sleeves, and regret it. 2026 plans include seeing if I can do a little sweater surgery to improve the fit. I've been very pleased with Zanete's patterns and how well they fit with my chesty, apple shaped body.
Yarn considerations
Playing around with options. Considering the grays for A (maybe trying to pair the very light purple fingering with a light gray fingering), the greens as B, and the dark purples for C. Not 100% that they all work, but it's my first attempt.

VKL Memories for procrastination
In order to delay the scary cutting of the steek on the Barberry Sweater (the first Zanete pattern purchased) I loaded needles with the VKL Memories Socks. I was intrigued by the gusset design and was excited to learn about the construction. Easy to follow instruction made this a fun project. The limited stretch of the colorwork makes them a tad challenging to put on. Once on, the fit is very comfy. I used Hobbii Silly Sock yarn paired with a solid also from Hobbii. I will up the needle size on the next pair. 2.25 mm used for these. Now the steek is the next item on the agenda.

stunning!
Cardigan
Another version of this pattern, a cardigan with more stranded knitting. No good buttons available so these are Dorset buttons , self made. Superwash merino wool from Kerry woollen mills in Ireland.

nice to see the cardigan version. Mine is a bit big on me, so I was considering making it a cardigan.
Over thinking sleeve length?
I'm close to finishing the second sleeve of my do ewe knit 2 sweater. When I put it sweater on, my first sleeve is a bit short on me (but .5 inch longer than the pattern). A bit of a tug on the cuff and it's fine. I'm thinking with blocking the length should be fine without going back and making it longer. What would you do? Assume the magic of blocking will give me the length I need or add more to be in the safe side. Thanks.
