Man, yesterday was a really productive day for me - in the real world. We finally got the electrical worked out so the fan we installed several weeks ago thinking we would "just" hook the Romex (the wiring) from the fan through the ceiling of our 125 year old house right across the floor of the attic and then drop it down the wall to the outlet ... Have you ever done any home improvement project where it was just like you expected it to be and took you 20 minutes? To begin with apparently there is a second floor in the attic which one accesses through a small hole in the closet of my bedroom which is part of the 3rd addition to the house. Once you go through the hole you have to squeeze through another section and then there is the actual roof off the original house - that's as much as I can see from the opening of the hole cause there is no way in hell I'm going through that hole... My husband and one of my sons ran the wire a full weekend project in itself - the next weekend was just getting the fan attached to the ceiling. This weekend for rewiring the porch light so that we could get power to the switch and be able to run the fan - and it will be another weekend when I will work on putting the dry wall back over the space. I did get a new porch light out of the deal too and am really happy with it. Today I'm going to take it easy - I slept in as long as the dogs would let me - my husband got up first which never happens and they were all confused. Did you have a productive Saturday too or did you get to hang out and relax? 🌼🪴🍁🌴🪴🍁🌼 This week is going to be jam packed: Monday is the VIP Mastermind 3pm mtn - we are working through the Client Attraction Masterclass - a course designed to facilitate the setting up of/restructuring of your business so that it is designed to attract clients systematically. You can learn more about that here: #Introduction Monday the Soulful Marketing Magic Summit kicks off here

How did we reach the end of July? It's rodeo weekend round here - which means more fireworks - feels like we have fireworks and parades in this town every weekend in July - next month will be the fair and then life will settle down for fall. (my very favorite season). Yesterday's Mastermind was all about notes and it was so great to have so many of you join live! Highlights? 📝 Post Notes daily. (Three per day is the sweet spot, but one consistently is far better than none. Use the scheduler so you never miss a day.) 💬 Spend at least as much time commenting as posting. Meaningful conversations are what make Notes work. 🌎 Don't stay inside our community. Support each other, then intentionally branch out into conversations happening across Substack. ❤️ Leave comments that add something to the discussion rather than simply saying "Great post!" The goal is to become memorable. 🤝 Build relationships before trying to build subscribers. Subscribers are the byproduct of genuine connection. 🔄 Return to older Notes and continue conversations. A new comment can bring an older Note back into circulation. 📚 Engage with articles and Chats, not just Notes. Every interaction increases your visibility. 🎯 Think of Notes as networking, not broadcasting. You're joining conversations, not posting advertisements. 🚪Use your Notes to open the door to your publication rather than trying to sell directly in the Note itself. 📈 Consistency beats occasional bursts of activity. Showing up every day compounds over time. 💜 Your personality is your advantage. People subscribe because of the person behind the publication as much as the content itself. Catch the replay w/transcript here 🌱 ✨ 💜 🤝 📝 💬 🚀 ☕ 🌿 Tuesday we'll be doing the Substack Setup Intensive LIVE again - we begin at 10am mtn #🎯START HERE to join us.

Slept late for me (6:30), there was rain last night and it feels like a Sunday morning for some reason though it is definitely Wednesday. Maybe it's the full moon influence?🤷‍♀️ We will be gathering at 1pm mtn for the Q&A/Social Hour here: https://us06web.zoom.us/j/82141442688?pwd=xJ9W2bYfTXnBptWKuoOgEH4P2enq6p.1 😊🕊️🪶🐝✨🧩 🕊️🪶🐝✨😊 I done a few summits this year. And said no to several others - I said yes to this one. Here's the difference. Most online summits are pitch-fests wearing a name tag. Fifty speakers, fifty sales pages, and a "free ticket" that costs you your whole inbox. The Soulful Marketing Magic Summit is the other thing. 40+ speakers who believe marketing works better when it treats people like people. Real strategy on copy, offers, visibility, AI, and community growth. Eight days, August 3 to 10, completely free. I'm speaking too: Before You Grow Your Audience available in the classroom starting August 3rd💛 Your ticket is simply joining The Kind Copy Movement, the free community where the whole event happens. One click, seat saved. Save my free seat (The non-bro marketing community for coaches, creators & Skool owners. Connect with real people who know marketing can be effective AND human. 💛) 😊🕊️🪶🐝✨🧩 🕊️🪶🐝✨😊 Thursday, we have the Monetize Your Mission Mastermind happening (can you believe that's tomorrow already?) All about Notes & Chat for growing your audience on Substack. If you're looking for the key 🔑 to exploding growth on Substack you're going to want to be here for this one. 2pm mtn - mark your calendar here

My kids will be arriving this afternoon, so I'm running around like my hair's on fire getting everything ready. 😂 I'll still pop in for the Notes Boost tomorrow and Thursday, but for the next few days I'll mostly be focused on family time. These are the moments we build our businesses to have. 💜 🌟🌲🏕️💜🌊 I do want to highlight something I'm seeing a lot over on Substack that has a really easy fix, and that's your Wordmark. The wordmark is the picture in the middle of your publication header. If you haven't uploaded one, Substack simply displays the name of your publication there. And in a lot of cases this is better than trying to add a graphic that gets squished up and looks weird or one that is just sitting on the header instead of being a part of the experience. It took me a minute to figure this out too, which is why I'm talking about it. What I'm seeing is that many people are uploading a logo, a graphic that is the wrong size, or a website banner instead of designing something specifically for that space. Think newspaper masthead, not website header. When someone lands on your publication, your wordmark should immediately tell them who you are and what publication they've arrived at. It doesn't need a bunch of tiny graphics or lots of extra words. In fact, the simpler it is, the more professional it usually looks. One quick tip that makes a huge difference: Create your wordmark at 1344 × 256 pixels. That wide, shallow format is what Substack is designed to display, and it will almost always look better than trying to squeeze another image into the space. And upload it as a png with no background that way the color of your background on the header comes through making the whole thing look like one continuous piece rather than a picture glued on the space. It's one of those little details that quietly tells a visitor, "This publication is cared for." I'd love to see yours! Drop a screenshot of your publication header below if you'd like some friendly feedback from the community.

Good morning everyone! ☕💜 Happy Saturday! I've been thinking about all the new people who have joined us lately. Every day I see new names popping up in this thread (and in the community) and I realized...we spend so much time talking about strategies that we sometimes forget to explain how this whole Notes thing actually works. So today I'd love to make this thread especially helpful if you're newer to Substack. 🌱 If you're brand new to Notes... Don't think of Notes as another social media platform. Think of it as walking into a room full of interesting people. The goal isn't to convince everyone you're brilliant. Or that you have something to sell. The goal is to become someone people enjoy seeing show up. That happens one conversation at a time. One of the biggest mindset shifts for me was realizing that Notes isn't a bulletin board. It's a networking space. People aren't scrolling looking for the next sales pitch. They're looking for conversations, ideas, encouragement, and people they enjoy interacting with. That's also why Notes is one place where traditional calls to action usually aren't very effective. Notes travel. They get restacked. They resurface weeks or even months later when someone comments on them. I've had Notes come back to life simply because someone added a thoughtful comment to a conversation I'd almost forgotten about. So instead of asking yourself, "How can I get people to click my link?" Try asking... "How can I start a conversation someone will want to join?" That one shift changes everything. One quote from How to Win Friends and Influence People comes to mind every time I think about Notes: "Be more interested than interesting." Ask questions. Celebrate other people. Share what you're learning. Be curious. When people feel seen by you, they'll naturally become curious about you. And that's how relationships begin. 💜 A few things that helped me grow... ✨ Reply more than you post (but do post 3x a day morning, noon and evening)
