Hi everyone, I'm a South African corporate attorney with over 15 years of experience in commercial law, corporate governance and strategic legal advisory. I currently hold a senior legal leadership role within a corporate group, where I advise on complex commercial transactions, legal risk and business strategy. My goal is to establish my own legal consulting business, allowing me to use the experience I've gained in the corporate environment to provide practical, commercially focused legal advice to businesses. While I'm excited about taking that step, I'm also conscious of the importance of building a sustainable business. Ideally, I'd like to secure one or two repeat clients and establish a solid foundation before stepping away from my full-time corporate role. My biggest challenge will be finding those initial clients and learning how to market myself after spending most of my career working in-house rather than building my own client base. I'm here to learn from others who have successfully made the transition from employment to entrepreneurship, particularly when it comes to attracting clients, building a personal brand and growing a consulting business. I'm looking forward to connecting, sharing experiences and learning from this community!
