Q about paid community
@Benjamin Ewert , is there any chance you can take a screenshot your paid communities Classroom so we can see what we're getting? I know some of the stuff that is paid in here is free in the community, but I'd like to see everything. For instance, are the sound effects packs and video editing assests that are unlockable in here available in the paid community? thanks

Hi Casey, I am in the paid community. The main course in the classroom is the YT-challenge (see screenshot), where Day 1-7 come with a 12-20 min long video and many action steps. There is also a "course" about IG reels and one holding valuable resources for content creation. Additionally, what is really valuable, besides the community and Ben's answers to posts and questions are the weekly calls each Tuesday. Where you have a chance to talk to Ben in a group setting. But he really takes the time to help every participant. The sound effects might not be in the other group, but you see them in this group, right?

Very cool video with superb editing. Did you do it 100% yourself, or outsource some parts? The intro felt a bit rushed but I know one has to get in the proof/authority to keep people watching and then you wanted to get to the real video. Solid advice and again, very cool editing/b-roll/animations. Will definitely use that advice in 2026
Quick question for the creators here…
When you first started posting consistently, what felt the hardest: ideas, scripting, editing, or just hitting publish? Coming from the eCommerce world, my biggest shift was realizing YouTube works the same way:clarity beats complexity Once I focused on one idea, one hook, one takeaway per video, everything got easier What part of YouTube are you trying to improve right now? Let’s swap what’s been working

The recording was and is still the biggest challenge I have to overcome. I have massive resistance talking into the microphone.
What would everyone like from this community 😀?
As we are in the process of reviving this community and trying to understand what people need support with and how to increase the value given (to you guys), what would you like to see more of here in The YT Skool? If you have been inactive for a while, feel free to leave a bit of honest feedback so we can understand better how to improve also so that is more engaging etc for you :)

Not sure if that is allowed. But if we have a weekly post where we link to our uploads to motivate ourselves and then watch each others content (at least for a bit) to generate a bit of watch time. Or do you think that messes up the algorithm? I mean, I do have 2 YT accounts. One for uploads and one premium account for watching.

@Sam Evans Yes, that sounds much better and good that you brought up the issue with the algorithm getting wrong ideas about the potential audience.
7 months on YouTube. Still haven’t qualified for monetization.
But after creating 161 videos(all bad) and watched a ton of YT videos. I can finally say that I understand why people watch what they watch. But before even dropping the why. Here are some of the mistakes I’ve made so far... - Just talk to the camera about anything - Over focused on the editing - Dropped $500+ on thumbnails alone None of these are bad per say, but if I were to break them down one by one. /// This video from a South Korean man called: I'm a Failed Korean Man at 36 It worked because people are curious about South Korea. It’s also the fact that many millennials feel like they’ve failed in life. Him pouring his heart out has a high likelihood of getting views. And connecting with the audience on a deeper level. /// Sam Sulek < the gym guy. He’s buff and a lot of guys want to look like him. So when he records videos of him working out. People are already interested in his life. The same way people are curious in what X celebrity ate yesterday. /// LET THEM - JUST LET THEM from Looking at life with Dee. We’re all naturally drawn to older people talking about life. So when somebody that’s over 70 years old is talking about their own life and sharing wisdom. You want to watch that. /// Who you are has a lot to say if you can simply talk and connect with people. Or if you have a skill or personality that draws people in.. Then go ahead and talk on the camera. Which brings me to the second point. Over editing and putting too much emphasis on thumbnails. They work, don't get me wrong. But they only work if the idea is sound. /// I only learned this when I made a video about my Osmo Pocket 3. Same bad editing, slight okayish thumbnail. But I got the highest amount of views. Because it’s a hot topic that attracts a lot of attention. The idea was enough to pull views. Talking about how to use AI? Crypto. Living abroad. Those are interesting topics that will pull views.. /// So here’s my final thoughts after doing this for 6 months, being consistent helps.

Took me over 2 years to get monetized. But that was okay because I made most videos to learn the skill that I then taught in the video. That is still the main reason I do YouTube videos. To be creative and share my insights. Getting likes and nice comments is a great motivator and bonus.

@Chris Jadama Thanks for checking it out. I think more and more people are switching from YT tutorials directly to using AI. I try to move more towards actually doing the skill instead of teaching. Of course I loose a search recommendations but hopefully a few hundred people will still watch my analysis and hire me or book my courses. We will see.
