A most wonderful day! A special friend came to visit for the weekend so today I took her on a trip further South. Thrift shopping in towns along the way to our lunch destination at a cute "Retro Cafe" but the highlight was an evening of creativity! I've been wanting to try my hand at Lino printing again and it did not disappoint...and of course the perfect choice was this "farmyard friend". Have you tried Lino printing?

This weekend, let's make some time to do something creative that is just for our own enjoyment... Sometimes our creativity takes on a mission because we have an Etsy shop, a market stall, or a community we need to produce for. But what about creating just for enjoyment's sake? When was the last time you fully settled into a creative space just for you—simply because you love it? It might be taking yourself on a creative date like visiting an art exhibition, picking up some crochet or knitting, working on a paper craft, getting out those water colours that are collecting dust or finally finishing that journal you've been dreaming about! What feels ok, and what doesn't? 🍂 I want to check in with you all because I want The Creative Cottage to be a completely non-pressured space. Creativity isn't about the hustle—in fact, hustle will just suffocate it. I want you to know that I am absolutely not about that hustle mentality. While I'd love to see this community grow, (and yes, of course I need to generate income) but that isn't my primary goal right now. Your presence, your slow progression, (or fast, if you should so choose) and connections we're building are what is more important to me. I think there's something special about the community we are creating here, and I want to protect that. I deeply value your honesty and your engagement, so I’d love for you to tell me exactly what will work best for you. My biggest priority is making sure this never becomes a place of overwhelm.
