New Guitar Day + First Session: JSM100 Blues (Tenor Madness)
Turning 45 this year, so I got myself a present 😎 This is a 2001 Ibanez JSM100, first year of production, made in Japan. Built to replicate John Scofield's 1981 AS200, the guitar he's been playing his whole career. Mine is from that first batch. A lucky find from a dear friend who was clearing out part of his collection and kept this one aside for me. Today was the first practice session with her. Still adapting to the feel, even a great instrument requires adjustment when you switch. But I wanted to document the first day, so I played a Bb jazz blues over Tenor Madness changes and called it JSM100 Blues. Nothing fancy. Just noodling with target notes, chromatic approaches and neighbor tones. Letting the guitar talk a little on day one. Hope you enjoy it 😊🎸🎶

That’s great @Coach Gabriel Sebrian birthday is ALWAYS a good reason for a new guitar 🎸 she’s really nice and you play her with great musicality, tonality - and great technique as well. Thanks for sharing. That’s inspiring for me 😃 I was at a concert of John just some days ago in Zürich (nice ambience in a church) he played with the young pianist Gerald Clayton. And it seems to be the Ibanez as you mentioned….
Solar “swing”
Hi JGA’s. It’s so long ago since my last post…. However, I am regularly playing and practicing. Currently I am on Solar “swinging” (1.2,3/1,2,3/1,2,3/1,2,3 - respectively 1 and 2 and 3 and 4 - you know what I mean…). I am not yet fully satisfied (80% maybe). I will slow it down and redo…. How do you practice swing? I am listening to songs trying to hear the triplets and as well to identify if there are none. In addition, for my 60th birthday I bought a 1951 Gibson ES-5 (not the one from T-Bone Walker, but same model…) which you can see and hear here. Maybe I will post soon the melody on my loop. Happy Easter 🐣🎸 https://youtu.be/kfb5TUvJQFo?is=co-oNmZ0Dt3Q6jIX
Fly me to the Moon, Bassing Tone , 120 bpm
Hi guys - I am still alive 🙃 I started to work on Fly me to the Moon. Here me first result on bassing tones using the good old metronome on 2 & 4. I will continue with the 3rd and Solo. Hope to post again on a faster cadence 😉 Let me know your thoughts …… https://youtu.be/5ezoZjWejOU?si=r7U4oqAUBZynz8CX

@John Klinkenborg hi John. I missed to answering ….. sorry… that’s my Cello, respectively the one I inherited from my father. I rarely use it but I learned classical music with this and trumpet 🎺 when I was young. But I tried some jazz improvisation with it and that’s quit cool 😎
Goodbye JGA
I'm leaving Jazz Guitar Accelerator. I'm moving on to writing music. Thank you Marc-Andre for your quality teaching, your dedication to your students, and the many accomplishments over the years (I've followed you for quite a few years now). Thank you to all of you JGA nembers: supportive and kind attitude, a keen longing to learn more -- all the best! As a parting gift, I'm sharing a last video of me improvising over the All of Me JGA jam session track. In it, I try to have an enthusiasm that's contagious to you all.

Matteo Mancuso
This kid is really special. I've only seen him doing jazz before. I know this is outside the scope of our studies, but his right-hand technique is unbelievable to me. He's obviously listened to Eddie 😁
