OAT (mosaic) and OAp(Diagnostic labs) comparison
I"m noticng the OAp not only has several additional markers then Mosaic, there are some markers that are not the same metabolites. Here's just 1 example: Mosaic uses uracil and thymine as indication of folate metabolism Yet DL uses figglu acid. Biotin has a different metabolite. Here's another: mosaic uses 2 hydroxybutyric. DL uses a-hydroxybutyric. After looking this up, they are the same markers. So it seems like perhaps some are the same markers but called differently and others are not? We probably could use more discussion on this.

I have been running the OAp lately because it costs less and has more markers that the OAT. I've read through the interpretative guide as well as submitted case reviews to get a better sense of how to interpret the results and see the patterns that we have discussed on the OAT. I'm finding that I like the OAp because of the additional markers, but I'm still getting used to the differences and how to interpret.
pulsetto vagal nerve stimulator
Would like to feedback as to if you've used this for a client and how did they do? It seems like adding more emf's is not truly a good idea but then there's also some value to supporting the vagal nerve

A while back I purchased a Sensate device for vagal nerve stimulation. I have seen this one rated high along with the Pulsetto. I have not used it very much but, always plan to. I'd really like to get my husband or son to use it. I find it similar to Brain Tap in that you listen to pre-recorded pieces that then work in tandem with the device.
PEMT and gastric emptying?
Emily, you mentioned today (or I thought you did), PEMT can lead to delayed gastric emptying. Can you explain that mechanism please?

Hey Terrie, Emily said that snps on PEMT can lead to delayed gastric emptying. This makes sense because PEMT makes PC which at some point is converted to acetylcholine which is a component of the vagus nerve - so less PC means less acetylcholine, means lower vagus nerve function and thus delayed gastric emptying.

Neuro-Lyme Testing
I have a young VA patient whose doc suspects Lyme, I do too. Doc tested him 7 times, all negative! Main symptoms now are migrating muscle twitches and spasms. Initially had major brain fog, wight loss, severe fatigue and Epstein Barr reactivation. Been given an ALS diagnosis to move along treatment options at VA and EVERYTHING else they tested for MS, IBS, Cancers, tumors etc all came back negative. I'm going to try and get the doc to order IGenX testing - Tick Borne Disease Panel 4IB. Any suggestions on using a different panel or additional tests?

If cost is an issue with running the IGenex panel, you could look at the AcuDart (by IGenex) as a screening for Lyme, Bart, Babesia, and TBRF. Much less expensive than the 4IB panel.
