Needle choice? Machine speed?
Hi! I had a question about needles. I had a client who did nano but her skin was pretty hard to work with. I used a 1RL .30mm kwadron needle and it felt like even penetrating her skin was tough. It was challenging to create thin crisp lines because even though I thought my depth and stretch was fine, it seemed like the needle wasn’t properly etching the pigment into her skin. Her skin just felt very resistant to the needle. Any insights and recommendations in a situation like this, Kim? Thank you!

@Kim Loy for more mature skin, which needle size and configuration would you use? I’m also having trouble figuring out which needle to use for more sensitive, porous skin. Any advice would be appreciated. Thank you!
💬 Struggling With Your Pre-Sketch? Comment “SKETCH” Below 👇
If your pre-sketch lines keep coming out too dark, too thick or too smudgy, you're not alone. This is hands down one of the most common frustrations I hear from artists—even those who’ve been doing PMU for years. I’ve just put together a quick set of free video lessons to help with exactly this, covering: ✅ How to get your pencil razor sharp (without snapping it every 2 seconds) ✅ How to stretch the skin properly for clean, crisp lines ✅ How to sketch with light, controlled pressure and the right angle These are short, simple, and pulled straight from my pro training content. If you want the lessons, just comment “SKETCH” below. I’ll DM you the next steps and send you the free PDF with the links inside. Let’s clean up those pre-sketches and make your patterns easier to execute 💪 Kim x

Front Stroke Training ✍️
Are you still struggling to get the front of your brows looking clean and consistent? In this quick training video, I’ll walk you through a simple 3-stroke combo drill you can start practicing today to instantly improve your front brows—even if you're new to machine hairstrokes. This is the same drill I teach my students inside the Hyperrealism Brows program, and it’s helped them go from patchy fronts to clean, symmetrical results in just days. @Kim Loy yes I am practicing your patterns! On these latex practices I was trying to focus more on the primary and secondary strokes since you advised for me to only do those for my first clients.

@Kim Loy When you tattoo, do you draw all your primary, secondary, and tertiary (if needed) strokes at once? Or do you draw and tattoo the primary first, then draw and tattoo secondary, etc.?
Needle size?
Hello! What size needle is best for nano hair stroke? My instructor suggested the 1rl .25mm long taper.
