@Jimmy Skog You looked stabile in the tripple match, just saw the video from the match on RN channel, JA and RN is really good player and their #3 was good as well.
Short shots!
I think my muscle memory is set on shooting about 20cm in front of the target boule. Doesn’t matter if its 6m or 10m. Of course i get alot of hits anyway but not on all pistes. I find it a bit disturbing. If there is a boule in front of the targetboule then i manage to lift properly and hit on the iron or if there is a tight shot with boules close to the target. But the ”open shots” 20cm short. Whats wrong in my head 😀. Do you think its just muscle memory? Focus issue ? Any tips what to do?

Hi @Jimmy Skog I have same issue, 20 cm short and jump over the boule. One thing to test is to place a boule and place the jack 10? cm away from the boule, so you can not see the jack and then try to hit the jack. This forcing you to have a good arc, then just adjust the same throw but little less effort and you continue the good arc and make a lovely carreau. Disadvantage you have to search the jack when it flyes away.

And you have your plomb training hoop in the background
Correct boule size?
How do I know I have correct boule size? If I compare all manufacturers suggestions and some suppliers my ball perfect size vary from 72-75 mm. (Handlength and longfinger size guides) I have then considered OBUT is the biggest manufacturer so they have probably some experience, and then it should be 73 mm, but in the lower end handsize 82-86 mm -> 73 mm. (I saw a list where many good male player had size and weight listed , and most had 71-73 680-690) Due to my handshape I think I could gain with 72 but how do I know if that is correct size ? Is there any exercise practice to do to decide with size is the correct one or is it only based on feeling ? I started with OBUT Match 73/690 my first ball in my short career, works ok, but when do a high lob or plombing it releases to early, is it size or technique? Then I tested OBUT RCC 72/690 a used ball, but very slippery, ok when hi loob and slippery when plomb, but shooting miss left, size or technique? Now I got MS Master Inox 72/690 to test, it is a used boule so the surface have good grip. Any suggestions how to decide correct size quickly, so I can drop that mental thought and focus on playing better.

@Stephan Bothur Sounds like me 😀 Started november with Match 73/690 to RCC 72/690 last week but to slippery now this week Master Inox 72/690 good grip, same time testing Boulenciel Mars 73/680 comparing 10 throw ranch then switch. Also playinh a match 73 against 72 against myself to se which is most successful Right now the Master Inox 72/690 is worth testing little more, but 73/690-680 is not bad either I just have to make up my mind and close the door so I can focus on right things. The RCC have great reactions to metall and ground, but to slippery for me,

@Kevin ORourke thanks for the link, according to the artikel , i shall have 72-75.?? I`m consider my self as a beginner, without a specific role, so maybe stick to my 73mm 72 good lift and point, 73 little more stabile when shooting. To bad they don’t have boule fitting like golf club fitting, I would be first in line. ;-)

When you are in a game and play bad. Do you have Any tricks(resetbutton) to avoid the frustration and irritation to build up? Does it all come down to breathing techniques or you do other stuff?

I attended trainings with Daniel Gillan this winter and some of the training was living in the moment. If you start thinking bad thoughts in the ring, think say a word example PUNKT/DOT and leave the ring and enter it again with new focus and happy thoughts.
I’m thinking of buying a new set of boules this year
Just a quick poll, I’m thinking of doing video boule reviews for different brands and models and this would be valuable to me! I know @Paul Cornwell already bought some from me and MS which is great and shows my advice can help

@Jimmy Skog Why change brand and model which is still produced, if you looking for the same old behave and feel ?

@Jimmy Skog that is a good reason, I like stripes and color the texts with yellow Acrylic to make it simple to see my boules among all blank metallic balls.

I don`t know anyone play boule, but looked fun and willing to give this winter for technique and then see of I have any skill in the sport.
