One week of petanque, Swedish Championships
Tomorrow it starts, one week of pleasure. Im not putting any expectations on my shoulders regarding medals. I just gonna have fun, relax and do my best in every boule. Maby it will take me to a medal. We are starting with Mixed Triplets tomorrow morning. And over the week ill play, mixed double, double, triplets and single as the last class. Maby i skip single this year. Depends on how tired i am in the end of the week. Had some pain in my back for several months to so this will also be a part of my decision for the singles. Ill try to update my games here and reflections over the week. Maby i need some mental advice along the week 😂😎. And if the petanque turns to crap, ill do some Beer reviews instead 😂😂🍺🍺😂😂 Cheers!

Day4: Doubles, today i play with the only person who managed to drag me to a medal in the championships ever. (2years ago) Hope he done his leg workouts so he can carry me again 😂. We won our group this morning. The first game we turned a 2-10 to 13-10. Opponents played really well + had the luck with them. But we never gave up 🤘. My personal game felt good. Smooth shooting and a couple of carreaues. No stress in my brain. 15 min ago we won one more game and advanced to round of 32. But think we have to wait several hours until next game. Now ill hope to keep the quiet mind rest of the day 😊

Aaaaand im out again 😥. Unfortunately we got a piste that is more luck than skill. Totally covered with rocks and no landingspots. Just throw and pray to god. And in this game the lord listen more to the other team 😂😥. One game is to short time to even out the luck, so not much to do. BUT, im still happy about my mental game, relaxed and calm. Dared to throw my boules in the right way without thinking about the outcome. I think that is a win in itself, but i wish i could get a medal to prove it 😂.
12 -1 down and still managed to win
I was playing in a melee yesterday and had a decent player and we were against two very strong players. With me pointing and him being arrogant we found ourselves in deep trouble at 12 - 1 down. I asked to switch and after a little discussion where I pointed out it couldn’t get any worse and he was missing loads he agreed to swop. Slowly we started to come back, one point at a time with me hitting boule after boule and getting lots of carreau. The fun part was when we won our second point to make it 12 -2 I remarked “pas morte” which was greeted with immense hilarity by everyone watching and the players. It came down to the last boule every end, time after time I had to play a miracle and I managed to pull it off each end. Every time we won another point I said the same thing…..pas morte. The next thing it was 12 - 12 and we had a large crowd as we were holding up the entire melee. I had a situation where they were lying 3 after a dodgy cochonnet movement and there was no feasible way I could beat 2 of the points. So I lobbed onto the jack and moved it to our boule and we won the game! The crowd at this point went crazy. This melee happens every week with over 100 players turning up and it was a very memorable game. It’s never over until someone hits 13! Do you have any similar stories?

Last year at the Swedish championships in the singles. I met a guy who had extreme luck. We played on a hard piste that had very big rocks on it and it tilted much to the side. I was down 6-12 and had mentally already packed my bags. My opponent had problems with the heat and his grip on the boule. So when he tried to shoot, he dropped his boules like 2m in front him and still it wobbeled and bounced and stopped on the coch. So sick, i think it happened 3-4 times. So i mentally packed my bags, when my teammates came to watch, and forced me to just to keep going. I managed al tho i was angry and tilted to fight back to 11-12. Then in the last round it happens again. I throw the coch at 9m and point my first boule at 20cm straight to the right of it. My opponent point his first boule 25cm in front of the coch. Seccond boule he miss a shot. Third boule he try a hard semiLob to either push his own boule or push my boule away, BUT, again he dropped his boule at 2m it wobbles back and forth and when it reaches his own boule (now at a high speed) it hits a rock jumps up a bit and only hit the top of his first pointed boule which rolls forward and ends up on my boule next to it on point. Now he have 13 points on the field. Guess if i was annoyed 😂😂. but luckily i managed to shoot the boule without hitting my own and then point to win. So never give up 😂 Next game i won 13-12 and game after 12-13. So hard long games in the heat.

@Stephen Daykin I think this is sportsbetting, not dividing the winnings. I read something about 9people involved, including some girlfriend of player that made big bet against team Rocher. And then they lost with big numbers. Just hope they get a fair trial, this stuff is not good for the sport.

Well this is no new stuff, i heard this happened long time ago to. Mafia putting pressure on players when they bet on games. Scary stuff.
A message from Self 2
Hello friends! Today when i went to the tournament i felt pumped up and in a happy mood. Weather is good and nothing to complain about. But under my first game my dear old pal self 1 turned up. He were in really rude mood. Stomped on me and called me lots of bad stuff. Even now when im out, he is here and complaining. Strong guy, hard to outrun or leave at home. I thought with my practice at home, that he would be silent today. But… now we know. He follows me wherever i go. I might as well buy him a icecream and hope he shut up 😊 *sigh* sometimes i feel like putting the boules in the shelf!

And one other thing, when situations like this occur, i really try to highlight it just to understand what and why this is happening. I just dont think ive found a ”fast medicine ” i can use/apply then im on the piste. Yet 😊
