Procrastination Was the Door
I just worked with a client around her procrastinating. Not by trying to fix it, but by actually being with what was there. A complete pivot from what she trys to do everyday. First, we explored everything involved in her procrastinating. What she does, how it shows up, the patterns around it. Frustration, stickiness, etc Then we slowed down into her direct experience. At first, it was heavy. Half her body felt empty, sad… almost shut down. The other half more alive… green… moving… even joyful. We stayed with both of those. And as she kept noticing, something started to shift. With some simple breathing, her system settled into a kind of stable, purple peace. From there, everything opened. Her imaginal space filled with beauty. There was more room, more ease. And from that place, the tasks she had been avoiding didn’t feel the same anymore. No pressure or attachment. Just a sense that she could move through them naturally almost effortlessly. She will practice a memory reconsolidation practice for the next 5 hours to lock this shift in and touch back with it each day for a while until it becomes natural to experience. ______________________________________________________________________________ Want the same experience? Start with what actually shows up in your body the moment you start to avoid something?

Wow!
How do you refocus?
Life gets busy. Business feels a little crazy. Maybe you are tired, maybe lost your way temporarily. How do you get your focus back in your business?

I make sure I get good sleep, first and foremost. Fatigue is honestly the worst thing for focusing. Second, I increase my hydration. Third, I take brisk walks. Getting my brain oxygenated invigorates my thinking. Afterwards I have more energy and I can get more done!
Foundation matters
Taking care of ourselves isn’t separate from the work, it is the work. When we’re generating something new in our lives or business, it asks more of us. It doesn’t come from pushing harder, it comes from how we’re living. In my coach training, they required us to do 30 minutes of meditation a day, 1 hour of exercise a day, 1 hour each week doing something new and more. I calculated the requirements were 2.5 hours a day 7 days a week for a year. At first it felt overwhelming to find the space in a busy schedule to do everything. Wake up early to meditate or run over for Aikido at lunch time. It was not meant as a routine, but as a way of supporting who we were becoming. Because if the foundation isn’t there, it’s hard to hold anything bigger. You can have the vision, know what to do, but if you don’t have the energy or the steadiness to carry it, things start to slip. It’s not just about where you’re going, it’s also how are you taking care of yourself along the way. This is the foundation of anything we do. Before you even do the tasks themselves, What are you doing, or what could you be doing, that would actually support you getting where you want to go?

That’s really cool. I like the emphasis on learning new things
April Intentions??
Hi @Brad Weyant! Happy April! What is something that you recommend for your community members to set our Founder intentions on for this new month?
April Intentions??
The “Start Here” Meditation. How does it feel for you?
Today I tried Brads meditation teaching in the classroom on “Object of Attention: Concentration with Support” In this practice, concentration is cultivated with support, meaning attention rests on a specific object. The primary object used is the sensations of breathing in the Lower Belly Center. I gave it a try and something kind of odd happened! I don’t know why but when I tried this technique today it almost felt itchy or tickling on my belly! I also got very tired and sleepy after the meditation session. Am I the only person that has had this happen??

@Brad Weyant great insight, thanks! I’m in midlife now and waking up at 2:30 am on a regular basis and can’t get back to sleep (it’s a terrible but very common thing) Probably should try and take a moment to nap in the day if I’m able to

@Brad Weyant i’m going on year two of having this issue. Apparently it’s extremely common for women in my age group over 50.
