Im assuming there are children involved, right? I’m not sure exactly what challenges you’re facing, but I’ve been in a similar situation before. First, I would encourage you to forgive your ex if you haven’t already. I would tell myself and my ex… “we’re on the same team” - there will be disagreements, but we’re not fighting each other and there has to be a way for us to reach common ground. Next thing I would do is pray, ask for God’s help to give me the right words, bring understanding and to soften each heart. In my experience - If the conversation was over the phone - text as much as possible or record it just in case you need it for the future. If the conversation was in person - meeting in a public open place (things are much less likely to escalate) and / or have a trusted, unbiased person to help mediate the convo if possible.
