Clue 1 Complete
A girl has a right to change her mind! I swapped out the green colour family I had initially chosen for a yellow/ brown option. The purple (Colour C) is 4 ply Inca Sun Heritage held together with Yarnfloozy. My choice for Colour A&D is Choice Yarns NZ Merino/Arapawa 8 Ply

Love it! But that’s probably because I chose more or less the same colour combination 🤣. And I switched from green to brown as well!
What's one thing you wish you had known when you started doing colorwork?
There are a million tutorials and videos out there on doing stranded colorwork (at least it feels that way!). Since a lot of people seem to have finished with clue 1, as we wait "patiently" for clue 2 to drop what is one thing/tip you wish you had known (or was explained more clearly) when you started doing stranded colorwork? If you still aren't sure or don't know, feel free to add that to your comment too! For me, the one thing I searched high and low for and to this day am not 100% clear on is "spreading your stitches on the right hand needle to ensure your floats aren't too tight". I understand the purpose, but no one really explains what they mean by that. Spread them so they're nicely side by side and not squeezed? Spread them so they're stretched a bit? So they're stretched a lot? I see some beautiful smooth stranded work out there and would love to know what people find works best for this!

I prefer the grey/blue. But colours are always so personal. For me; choosing the right colours is always the hardest part of the whole project!
Jog help?
Ok I'm noticing the jog and I don't like it lol I know when two rounds I can lift the below to elongate it but I'm unsure what to do in this instance. I'm not familiar enough with color work to see it before it happens with a chart. I know should be three plums in a row but I would've had to change on previous row to make it happen...Suggestions?

That’s one of the reasons I chose to knit the cardigan; no jogs. But there are ways to hide the jog. If you google jogless stripes knitting, there are lots of tutorials. Works with stripes, but also with patterns like this.
My Clue 1
I redid my short rows twice because they weren't lying nicely but finally got it using a different technique. On my size 3, cB starts with an M1 every 6 stitches. I chose to do mine by kfb and it is obvious. I don't know if I want to tink back and redo the short row section AGAIN.... or just see it as a unique design element..... it doesn't really bother me. Thoughts anyone?? (In retrospect i should have done one plain row of cB and then my kfb increases. They would then have disappeared into the same color.)

Me too! And I don’t think anyone but you will notice once the cardigan is finished, it’s such a small detail. But if it bothers you, now is the time to change it; nothing better to do while waiting for next weeks clue ;-)
