Filler Words…
What tips do you have to get over the excessive use of filler words while presenting? I observed and instructor last week who had a bad habit of saying “So” as a filler word. It was very distracting, and definitely drew my attention away from the material. How have you overcome using them too much?

I find that I use filler words more when I do not have a clear path of what I want to say mapped out. My filler words are used to give me time to build my thought process in real time. I have started practicing intentionally not using filler words, but rather just giving myself permission for there to be silence while I put words together. This is one way. The other way is to have a very clearly mapped structure to what you’re saying. It’s definitely harder and pushes against my “good enough” gene 🤣 but overall I’d say the delivery is more professional!

@Billy Daniel Please do!! I also recommend "watching for it" when you see other "calm and collected" presenters....
What makes it easy for L&D to procure external services
Maybe I’m shooting in the dark here, but I’d love your insight. If you’re looking to procure services from an external provider, what makes it easy for you to buy? Here is my context: I’m building a training and coaching firm that helps companies scale, emotional intelligence in their workforce. So we are talking about developing different soft skills, which when embodied, change behaviors and produce the right business outcomes. I can give more detail, but wanted to know your experience and insight best of my initial question. I’m getting some good initial signals from prospects, but I want to go in with something that stands out. Thanks for any at all detail, and experiences, you can share.

Management Input for Training
Do you have a solid process for mgmt input for training topics and content? I've found that a clear process for input is invaluable. However, the expectation should be that while input is encouraged and welcomed, it is not guaranteed to make it to the final product. Some of the best training topics have come directly from training requests from both management and team members. What is your process?

Ooo, I do not have any recent experience in this, but I would love to hear what others have to say!
Obligatory 2026 Goal post...
It's so cliche, but I also think it helps. What are your goals for the new year? Personal or professional, share them all!

And I forgot to mention Skool! I made a decision to show up every day and so I want to continue doing that and adding value to conversations every day.

@Billy Daniel that’s a great question. To be honest when it comes to social media, I have already iterated quite a bit over the last three years and I feel like now I’m starting to land on a strategy that will pay dividends but it’s more about consistency overtime so I am probably going to not really look at any numbers before I’ve done 100 reels and 50 YouTube videos for example. But that’s a really good reflection. I think generally I have tended to quit too early and so this time I will focus mainly inconsistency over a one year time span and see what happens
Wins from last week?
Mondays can be rough. What wins do you have from last week?

@Billy Daniel we shall see. The manager likes it so I’ve gotta win her as a champion and see what the path to becoming a supplier is like in Tesla. If anyone here knows how to become a preferred supplier in Tesla works I would be very grateful for your insight!

@Billy Daniel thanks for asking, yes, the meeting was very insightful, and actually there happened to be two other site managers that were visiting the same day and so she asked me to re-pitch them the same pitch that I gave her. It ended up being a two hour brainstorming meeting about how to get this in front of the country manager. I have no idea how detailed things need to be, though in order for it to get sign off.
