Favorite Things - Movie Edition
On Sundays we get a little cozy and that means we want to hear about your favorite things. Since a group of us are going to see The Odyssey today (I REALLY hope I make it through 3 hours without snoring), it's time to share a favorite movie.

@Jennifer Wood Its old and not very main stream but I love it. It's about an indigenous tribe who never had much contact with the outside world and how they keep people away,
Plot Twist Friday - The Chapter I Didn't Think I'd Write
Today, my divorce became final. I have gone back and forth about whether to share that here. Not because it is a secret, but because some experiences are too personal and complicated to turn into content. Since I want this to be a space where we can be our most vulnerable and sometimes messy selves, I need to be that person. This is not a celebration post. It is also not a post about the details of what happened or who was right and wrong. It is simply an honest acknowledgment that one chapter of my life has ended. I know this ending is right for me. I know there is peace, possibility, and a fuller version of myself waiting on the other side of it. But knowing those things does not erase the grief. Sometimes a plot twist is exciting. Sometimes it is devastating. Sometimes it is both freedom and loss at the very same time. I am sharing this because I want Plot Twist to be a community where we do not have to pretend that becoming the heroine of our lives always feels brave, beautiful, or empowering while it is happening. Sometimes becoming the heroine looks like crying in your car. Sometimes it looks like admitting that something mattered, even though it could not last. Sometimes it looks like letting yourself be sad today and trusting that you will straighten your shoulders tomorrow. (This is an ode to one of the most profound scenes in TV I have seen. It's the end of The Good Wife series when Diane slaps Alicia. She allows herself a moment to fall apart, straightens her shoulders, and carries forward). I do not have a perfect lesson tied up with a bow. I am still living this part. But I do know that an ending does not mean my story failed. It means the story changed. And perhaps that is the heart of a plot twist: the moment when the life you expected falls away, and slowly, imperfectly, you begin writing what comes next. For this Plot Twist Friday, you are invited to share only what feels safe: What chapter are you closing, grieving, rewriting, or finding the courage to begin? And if you have a happy tale to tell today, we want to hear that too.

So very true and I am holding space for you in this next chapter. Change isn't always wanted, expected or happy but it does always lead to things beyond our wildest imagination. I closed several chapters in the last month, I moved to a new state after 37 years in the same area, leaving behind routines, family, jobs, connections and the kid I claim as my own. It is both sad, frightening and empowering to step into a whole new blank page not knowing what comes next, but we are both going to write something epic on those pages!

Plot Twist Friday: Choose Your Door
Plot Twist Friday: Choose Your Door You are walking through an old house when you discover four doors that definitely were not there yesterday. You may open only one: 🚪 The Green Door Behind it is a chance to begin something you have been quietly dreaming about. 🚪 The Plum Door Behind it is the truth about something you have been overthinking. 🚪 The Golden Door Behind it is one wildly fun, completely unnecessary adventure. 🚪 The Black Door Behind it is the courage to finally leave something behind. Which door are you opening and what do you hope is waiting on the other side? Answer with just a color, a sentence, or the whole story. Bonus quest: Reply to one other woman’s answer with the question you would most want to ask about what happens next.

@Laurie James love this! When one door open, one closes and the next adventure begins!

@Brandy Wardlow my husband just explained to me how far our property goes (way more than I thought) so I'm thinking about doing some smaller ones to start getting momentum for the bigger dream
The Women In Your Story
There is something powerful about being known by other women. Not performatively known. Not “I saw your post and clicked like” known. Really known. Known as the woman who always notices when someone is quiet. The woman who brings humor when things feel heavy. The woman who remembers the details. The woman who has walked through enough life to recognize when someone else needs a little light. Community does not have to mean sharing your deepest story before you are ready. Sometimes it begins much smaller. A familiar name. A shared laugh. A “me too.” A comment that makes you realize someone else sees the world a little like you do. That is how women slowly become part of one another’s stories. So today, we are doing something fun. The Women in Your Story will help you discover the role you might play if Plot Twist were a book series, and give you a simple casting call to share here with the group. There is no pressure to be profound. No need to reveal anything personal. Just come as you are, share your result, and see whose answer makes you smile, sparks your curiosity, or gives you an immediate sense of, “Oh, I think I would like her.” Maybe that is all community needs to begin. One small moment of recognition between two women who might otherwise have passed each other by. https://chatgpt.com/g/g-6a5516dde574819193e21942babbff27-the-women-in-your-story

@Jennifer Wood I get that, I think I have four but I only check one and get mail regularly in one but man is it nice having ones that the only thing that comes in is stuff I actually need to read vs shifting through all the email noise,
