Happy Monday! Some welcomes + updates :)
Howdy MFM crew! 🤠 Happy Monday :) First off - a MASSIVE welcome to our newest members! We're so stoked you're here, tell us a little bit about yourself in comments! @Shelby Herban @Melissa Beilfuss @Amy Artyomenko @Ashley Blankenship @Kaitlin Ketcham @Ryan Czar @Bobby SIsock Second - couple updates based on ya'lls feedback! - Added the "Ask a Marathoner Tab" and moved some of the questions we've gotten so far in there. I'll be adding a FAQ post both from questions I get on the show and ones we've gotten here from the community. The goal is to make it a judgement free zone to ask the group of experienced runners we have here, so ask away! - Added a separate "weekly posts" section to keep the gen discussion page a little less crowded, and give @Kristine Owen Wood a place for her polls so you never miss one :) Thanks for being here! Go crush whatever goals you have this week!

@Ryan Czar you couldn’t be in a better spot to have people to cheer for you through the training cycle! Plus Philly?! I’ve heard nothing but good things!!
Thursday check-in!
No prompt today - just a simple “how are yall doing?!” What’s hard right now? How’s training going? What can we support you with? 👇

Just trying to swim through this humidity lately. The heat and humidity have affected my paces - but we’re still getting out there (except for today - it’s a rest day!)
Motivational Monday 🏃‍♀️
Hi friends! I interviewed an incredible person on the podcast for today's episode (@carlyschrom if you want to check her out!) and wanted to share some inspiration with you on this fine Monday. Carly was diagnosed with Crohn's disease, had liver surgery at 22, went through months of not being able to run, and then slowly clawed her way back one mile at a time. She ended up running her first marathon at 4:30am on the one year anniversary of her surgery. No bib, no crowd, just her and her boyfriend looping a pond in Wisconsin in the dark in December. Her story was SO full of gratitude for just being able to run, and I think all too often we tend to take being healthy and ABLE to run for granted. So this week I just want us to be grateful for our runs. The slow ones, the tired ones, the ones where you really didn't want to go but you went anyway. We are really lucky to get to do this. Go get after it this week 💪

Couldn’t agree more - this is something we get to do, and there is joy to be found, whether tired, cold, hot, easy or hard - it’s something we GET to do!

Here’s one you heard here first! Put some Vaseline in and above your eyebrows on those warmer runs…it will prevent sweat from running into your eyes. Just make sure you angle it out to your temples, and don’t forget to block up the space between brows, because the sweat will run down your nose!
