What's happening for Christmas and your holiday?
I'll be here at home with the wife and kids, drinking some bad drinks, eating some bad foods, and watching A Christmas Story. If it doesn't rain we might hit the pool at my brother-in-law's place. Christmas in summer is a mind-flip for me even after all these years. What do you have on?

Merry Christmas, Matt! Christmas Eve lift starting soon, then a hike with the kiddos, then some partying. Enjoy!
Would you pay even $1 for fresh hot trainings on how to USE the science of muscle growth for shirt-splitting gains?
I've been going back through a long-lost book that I wrote way back in 2009 called "Maximum Muscle". That book collected a ho' lot of research into muscle hypertrophy and what causes it. Bad news: the book itself is an over-written monstrosity that should never see the light of day. Good news: the ideas in it are rock-solid, and they've inspired me to create some new trainings in audio and video format. But the people I'm talking to now seem bored and uninterested, so I'm not going to waste the time making one blessed thing... ...not unless you let me know you would actually WANT and BUY such game-changing ideas. So I need you to let me know. šŸ‘‰ Would you pay even $1 fresh insights on what makes muscles grow and how to PUT THAT KNOWLEDGE INTO ACTION in your own workouts? If so, drop "$1" in the comments šŸ‘‡

Drop your gossip šŸ‘‡
Y'all know I've kept away from the online fitness world for a long time now. I don't know who is who or what is what anymore. This is good. It keeps me happy and level-headed. But I don't have my finger on the pulse the way I used to. Leave a comment and let me know who you're following, who's saying good things, or any lolcows causing good drama šŸ‘‡

From afar... and I mean aaaafar... it looks worst than ever. The change in technology has only accelerated the hucksters and charlatans. The already far-too-low barrier to entry only lowered some more. I missed the good ol' forum days... that's for sure.

@Matt Perryman I'm actually genuinely surprised there isn't more traction. Back in the heyday of forums, I couldn't wait to see what powermandl posted since my last visit. I think it's hard to create off-platform communities nowadays, which is unfortunate since the "communities" on Facebook suck compared to the vbulletin setups of yesteryear. I hope you crack the code. It'd be pretty cool to have a spot.
What's stopping you? What do you HATE?
What I hate most is having to keep my inner fat-boy on a tight leash. If I had my way, I'd eat pizza and burgers every day and wash it down with a six pack of red ale or stout. I can't do that if I want to be pretty and feel good when I wake up in the morning. I hate it, but I want the bigger goal more than the fat-boy wants his junk food. So I do what I've gotta do for the prize. Everybody's got their frustrations with lifting, cardio, and diet. It's your turn now. What is it that bugs you the most?

What bugs me the most is the fact that most of my friends do not prioritize their fitness. As a father of 3 active/involved children, there isn't an hour to spare in my week. That's including about 8-10 hours of exercise if you count my daily hike with the pup. Meanwhile, the boys are couch surfing while woofing down a bag of chips and drinking an ale. I catch myself in a rage of jealousy every now and again. But, like you, the bigger goal keeps me in check most of the time.

@Matt Perryman Same experience here. At 44 years of age, I can think of two people in my personal life who took my lead and deployed lasting physical change in their lives. But countless folk have asked how I do it only to scoff at "how hard it is." As a culture, we're programmed to look for the easy button. GLP-1s engaged! And your comment about people being obsessed with beging helpless victims hits, too. Identity is a big part of the riddle if you ask me. And most folks spend zero time thinking about their identity. And so it gets outsourced and reduced to the lowest common denominator. Unfortunately, that's usually a sheep.
