I listen to presenters and speakers every week and often times many times a week. Almost no one is asking questions but most are telling facts. Facts tell, stories sell. But the key to a great story is to ask the audience (receiver) questions to keep them interested. People asking the questions control the conversation, am I right? I see people post and chat about things that they are involved in. But I like to keep it more personal. I want to help a few people with tidbits and helpful hints. Like a recipe website or blogger, and one thing I always want to know is, what temp should I cook my deep dish apple pie at and how long, so the apples don't get mushy! Now I am not the expert cooker, baker? But I am an expert on teaching people how to talk, how to get maximum audience response, and how to generate interest and curiosity in a talk. I am an expert on memes, posts, generating interest using hooks, and ideas.. So if there is something I might answer or help you with, please drop me a question and let's see who wants help, who wants to find a solution, and how many of us can really help. And if someone wants to know about something and you genuinely are not an expert in that area please don't offer a 'I think this might work' solution.

I have helped about 200 authors get published and have 10 books that I have published. Early on I was frustrated with the idea that these so-called publishing resources would end up with $10 of the sale of a book while only giving me $1 when I was the one that put in all the work in writing the book. Fortunately, because I had spent 20 years in the printing/publishing industry, I created a simple process to flip the results so that I ended up with $10 and Amazon only gets $1 when selling my books. I found www.TheBookPatch.com early in 2001. I uploaded my .pdf version of the books. I posted my books on Amazon using the "Self Fulfillment" option. When someone buys my book, Amazon sends me a notice with the details of the purchase. I post the sale on thebookpatch.com with the address of the buyer and they print the book and ship it typically within a week. Then for a $20 book, I earn $10 while Amazon only receives $1. I don't have to keep a stock of my books and a major benefit is when I have speaking engagements, The Book Patches will print and send as many copies of my books to the location where I'll be speaking, making it so much easier to avoid having to transport the books myself.
