@Jerry Fletcher Thanks for sharing that great story, Jerry. Wow, very cool indeed šŸ˜ I voted for Jim Rohn, as he's always been one of my favorite speakers. He spoke with a rare honesty and tremendous pragmatism. We've discussed authenticity on our calls, and Jim certainly had that. He deeply resonated with people, and still does.

A Different Lens Regarding Decisions About AI
In my earlier post, I introduced "Lessons from the Steam Engine." This is a "we can let history repeat itself or not" paper. I also introduced the cultural anthropology lens I often bring to my work. As an undergraduate at Syracuse University, I spent a great deal of time on the Onondaga Reservation. The Onondaga are one of the nations of the League of the Iroquois. I am much wiser (and also less Western cultural thinking) for that time. Among the things that I learned was the Seventh Generation Principle. When applying this principle, decisions are not based on the quarterly or annual impact. They take into consideration the impact seven generations into the future. In the attached paper, "The Real Question Leaders Aren't Asking About AI: What Will This Decision Make Normal?" challenges the way in which leaders are making decisions regarding AI today. It also makes the case for moving from a model of "leadership wisdom" informing decisions to one of collective wisdom that recognizes wisdom at all levels of the organization. I look forward to your thoughts.

@Brian Gorman Excellent thoughts in this document, Brian. As the indigenous governance system stipulated, leaders should consider how their decisions will impact people seven generations into the future. With our rapid and unchecked adoption of AI, we are most certainly NOT doing that at the present moment. As such, there will be many unintended consequences, and some more serious than we can now even envision. And, as you said, "what will become impossible to undo once it becomes embedded in how we work?". That question should be front of mind at this juncture. Sadly, these key considerations and many others of foundational import have been scuttled to the wayside amidst all the excitement of these precipitous times. Thank you for sharing, Brian. This should be required reading for thought leaders of every stripe!
International women's day!
A few days ago, the world celebrated International Women’s Day. But pause for a moment… What is a woman? And before we answer that— Are men any less? A woman is often the emotional anchor in a room. The one who understands before she is understood. The one who absorbs storms so others can breathe. She is the one misjudged while trying to understand everyone else. She is a mother — ready to give everything when support is needed, without announcing the sacrifice. We admire the beauty — the heels šŸ‘ , the elegance, the grace. But behind those heels are hours of standing, walking, balancing pain with poise. Makeup? Not always glamour. Sometimes it is preparation for a world that watches closely. And when it is removed, the face finally rests. Clothes šŸ‘—šŸ„» Chosen for comfort… yet judged by culture, tradition, trends, and expectations. Her voice… If she does not raise it, many speak on her behalf. If she raises it, many try to lower it. Her intuition is questioned. Her expertise is tested. Her strength is expected. And yet… The world has changed. Technology has evolved. Women are rising and shining in every field. But many stories are still lived quietly behind the scenes. And still — she respects the men around her. She gives space where space is due. Not because she must. But because she understands something deeply powerful: Strength is not about proving you can stand alone. True strength is rising… while making space for others to rise with you. Hats off to the universal mother! Thank you.. Gopika!!!
