What a tripwire is and why it's one of the most underused tools in online business
As I look around several communities at the moment, I keep seeing people go straight from free content to high-ticket offers and wonder why conversions are low. There's a step missing. It's called a tripwire. A tripwire is a very low-priced offer - usually somewhere between $1 and $27 - that exists for one reason. To turn a follower into a buyer. That first transaction changes the relationship. Someone who has paid you even a small amount is far more likely to buy from you again than someone who has only consumed your free content. The psychological barrier is already gone. One thing I always look at when someone joins my community is whether they're already a paying member somewhere else. Not to exclude anyone - just because it tells you something important. If they've already spent money in another community, they've already proven they invest in themselves. They're much closer to buying than someone who only ever joins free groups. The tripwire doesn't need to make you rich. It needs to make someone a customer. Everything else gets easier after that. Brilliant observation, and it should be more obvious. Too many times, people just miss the obvious oit of desperation.
In Sharon's absence...
Let's keep the group going for her. Shall we start with a where is everyone from post? I'll start in the first comment...

@Gareth Parkes nice! I've never been to Cape Town, but have traveled a bit from J-burg over to Botswana. And, took a lovely trip down to the Kruger Park for a few days. South Africa is quite spectacular in many ways!

My mum died today. So I’ll be less active on Skool, including in Onliners, over the next few weeks. Please feel free to comment, post and support each other while I take a step back. If you need help check out the Leaderboards - they’ll show you the people most active in the community and therefore most likely to help. Thanks for your patience and understanding. ❤️

Super Quick Fix For Sharing Video with Other Community Owners
If you've hosted a chat with another Skool Community owner you'll know it's hard to share the video with them (or anyone else) because of the long time it takes to transfer large video files. I posted in Skoolers a while back to see if there was any solution from the brains trust, but all they could offer was the other Community Owner has to join your community, and then you make them an Admin, so that you both get notified when the Download is available. That's what I was planning to implement this week when I interviewed Danielle Drew. Unfortunately, we discovered that it only works if you are on the $99 Pro Plan because on the $9 Hobby Plan you can't add another Admin. I've tried using Zoom before, and publishing to YouTube and sharing the Collaboration link etc - but they all still take a long time to do (more than an hour for an hour long call). But after the call this week Danielle and I experimented and discovered this super quick fix. When you get the download notification - choose Download and you'll see the URL in the Location bar at the top of your screen changes and the video starts playing. Copy the link - just click anywhere in that top Location bar and press Control-C. Send the other person that link - Just Ctrl-V to paste via Skool DM or Email or any other method you like. Then they can see it as well. To Download it they just click on the three dots in the bottom right hand corner and that brings up a menu of options. If they choose Download it will start downloading to their computer - and it's really fast! The whole process including both downloads can be done in less than 5 minutes. Note: The link only lasts for 14 days so you have to let them know that. I made a quick Loom video to demonstrate how to do it. If you still have questions after you've watched, just drop a comment :-)

Member Spotlight: Caroline Fransz
This is actually well overdue but I want to finally shine the spotlight on @Caroline Fransz Caroline has a lovely community called The Crochet Circle but insiders know we refer to ourselves as the happy hookers ;-) Caroline has achieved so much in her time on Skool. So many of the communities I'm in (including Onliners) have a leaderboard featuring Caroline. Her contributions are always valuable, encouraging and friendly. And she's known for popping up as a cameo in other people's videos too - including a couple of times on Skool News. If you are interested at all in crochet or know someone who is, Caroline's community is the obvious choice!

What a Beautiful member spotlight! @Caroline Fransz puts out so much wonderful energy that it (almost) makes me want to learn how to do it too! I'm pretty sure i wouldn't make a very good hooker anyway, but the banter alone would be worth the effort.
