I just saw a post in Skoolers that pointed out that only 7 of the top 100 earners on the Skool leaderboards are women. I can't see any women at all in the top 30. There's a whole lot of reasons why that's interesting, but one question it sparked for me, is who are you targetting in your community? Because if your community content is only attracting women, you might be missing out on not just 50% of the population, but actually 93% of the people who have money to spend. So who are you attracting to your community? The first photo you see on the highest earner's about page is all male - more than a dozen men in a group shot. That tells men straight away that this is your home. And he makes $886,000 MRR. The first woman on the leaderboard is only making $96,000 MRR - still a phenomenal achievement. Her first About Page photo is just her with a very pink background. But that gap of almost $800,000 a month is more than $9 million every year. Is our gender blind spot costing us $9 million? Every year? I just checked my About Page using a gender lens and realised I have nearly all women - even in my testimonials. So men, please feel free to tell us from a male perspective what is and isn't talking to you when you visit female-led communities? Your answers might just be the key to helping us unlock way more sales. And women, do you even want to attract more men to your community or are you happy with the status quo?
