OOTD - 2025-12-02 - City Planning Meeting
We're at that stage in the journey where I don't have a jacket that fits me again, but I'll try to make it work. My favorite BB Regent Shirt, Banana Republic pants and sweater, and those cursed leather sneakers, LOL.

@Liam Reid I'm a bit light on shoes. I like AE's offerings (especially the Chili colorway of their Oxford Dress Boots), but I haven't seen any pop up on ebay or posh that are my size at a price I want to pay.

@Carl Ronny Birkeland Thanks for the kind words! I think I made an impression on the planning consultant, but that was probably more to do with my vocal criticism of their plan :). Being dressed well makes one feel more grounded when arguing in that context, though, for sure.
What do you think about this jacket?
I really like it, but I don't think the cost per wear is there. Would I have any options styling it besides tuxedo shirt/pants? https://www.ebay.com/itm/389271752463?_skw=saville+row&itmmeta=01KBDS4ZKH9SZ04AG2JFPE2DBE&hash=item5aa2678f0f:g:z-EAAeSwxOBpIlID&itmprp=enc%3AAQAKAAAA4FkggFvd1GGDu0w3yXCmi1f9cKRhR529e7se7TuOATickt1TYS61VxrpI8Z5jQJefYCfYnJrVb0sDY1Qzr1CRneLkNvcjm%2FPP%2BzUWuHWUX%2Bfluje1YqWIyPj%2B4Zcj1j4HLFW0DzA%2FPqHIUyoxEGxXGod6JN32zGe4senh2oRojqm6Bewa5K9qe148Ip88jQvgprUFWyJtmsdB5xNavauI50ChxF17aWjrYAEli9flitEhdxx7UILGyLSdOcanHKJs%2BqYm8atAxytZNObICLO9h2dLaiizxhlq8qbS8Ru8zJN%7Ctkp%3ABFBM8vmTudtm

@Steven Hotchkiss No. I was just hopping on this morning to go make the seller an offer and saw it was sold. Oh well.
🍂 Fall Style Face-Off: Which Fabric Wins?
Fall is the season when your clothes finally get interesting. The fabrics get heavier, the textures get richer, and the details matter more than ever. - Wool → Clean, sharp, and timeless. - Tweed → Rugged, heritage, built for crisp mornings. - Flannel → Soft, casual, your go-to weekend workhorse. - Corduroy → Bold, textured, with real personality. Each one has its place - but everyone has a favorite. 👉 Which fall fabric do you reach for first - Wool, Tweed, Flannel, or Corduroy? If you’ve got a piece that nails it - drop a pic.

I'd love it if the highs would get below the upper 80s so I can start on the fall stuff.
Laundry: HELP!
I’ve been having a major problem with shirts smelling after washing. They go into the washer smelling like me (after a long day, a shirt isn’t fresh, but it isn’t bad). After washing, they come out with a sour/wet towel smell. I’ve tried washing with borax, I’ve run my machine through a “tub clean” cycle, I’ve tried washing fewer shirts at a time and on a heavy duty cycle, I’ve tried different detergents- it’s very frustrating. Has anyone had this problem and solved it?

It's not ideal, but if all else fails, you could try airing the clothes out for a few days and then running back through the dryer with a dryer sheet. Materials also matter - I have some polyester workout shirts that always smell bad, no matter what (not BO, something else), so I don't wash them with my cottons / wool.
Dressing up when working out of your home?
I admit, I dress in my shorts and t-shirts (sweatpants when cold) for most days because I work out of my home. I would like to hear what other work-from-home people do. Do you dress for success?

Sometimes I get all the way dressed up (and I should probably do it all the time), but a lot of the time I end up just dressing from the waist up. Dress shirt + gym shorts :D.

@Anthony Buntyn It's very true. I need to be better about that just for the psychological side, but my office is usually around 81 degrees, so compromises are made. Well, that and I don't have a lot of pants that fit at the moment...
