Who's got music on Spotify? Drop your links here!
Who's already releasing music on Spotify (or other DSPs)? Drop your links, I want to hear where everyone is at sonically right now. Also, let's start leveraging this circle of like-minded producers and musicians!I love finding new music, and the more stuff you can tell the algorithm you like, the more good stuff Spotify recommends- I want to know what y'all are making. My personal playlists need new sounds. I'm a fan of lots of electronic music, rock, metal, pop, and hip hop/rap personally, so if you make any of this, I wanna hear it! Pro tip- 30 seconds counts as a stream. Spotify likes when people "like" a song or save a song to your playlist. These are positive signals, so if you're vibing you know what to do. Skips, or less-than-30-second plays are negative signals to the platform, so let's all try not to do give Spotify negative signals, even if you're not into the music people are sharing.

@Jim Allen That's brill thanks Jim πŸ™ I'll see which of those are outstanding post EQ, compression & saturation in the mix and can then do some subtle moves in the master as well to get it over the line!
My Volume Only Mix - 'Took Your Time'
Hi folks. Just spent some time yesterday and today to duplicate my project and do a volume only mix. My main take away from the sessions was how important it was to get a great mix with just volume prior to going in with the plugins so wanted to give that a bash! https://www.dropbox.com/s/y51woamm40ebx5w/Took%20Your%20Time%20-%20Steve%20Allen%20-%20Volume%20Only%20Mix%283%29.mp3?dl=0 Hoping to work through the mix process over the next few days if I can using this as a basis. Was really insightful doing a volume only mix as I realised some of my original levels were all over the place section to section πŸ˜… (my initial rough volume balance must have been very rough!) So this will provide a much better baseline for my mix once I start EQing and compressing. Started by doing a good gain stage to get everything -12db to -18db ish and then went through my vocal tracks and fixed any volume bumps and dips manually in place on the track with the crop tool etc (think this step is called clip gain?) and cross faded the bits together after to avoid the popping that can occur - x button in studio one!). Applied Waves Vocal Rider after this also just as an extra leveling step & I have also used Waves Tune Real Time to do some light, natural style tuning correction on my vocals. Then set all faders to off, kick to 0 and went through to get the levels nice + some panning i.e. rhythm guitars & vocal doubles set left and right. Hope this is sounding ok/good at this stage. If I am brave I will bake these volume changes in for the next stage! Any feedback greatly appreciated πŸ™ (this track has been my pet project for a yr or 2 while learning to record, produce, edit and mix so will be great to move forwards with it) Am looking forward to doing EQ, compression and some delay/reverb next and then some automation to finish it off mix-wise. ✌️

I have left on the Guitar amp plugins on (recorded DI with neural DSP plugins) as I consider those baked in from the recording/tracking stage - so there is some cheeky reverb that has come through on the solo that way. Would not sound great without those on πŸ˜…
Volume Only Mixing - Take 1
Hey all, I'm a long time musician but still fairly new to mixing/producing. Here's a crack I took at a set of audio files I dowloaded a little while back. They were from a remix contest that I never ended up doing (Perfectionism rearing its head - "I Can't do this correctly!... I don't really know what I'm doing."). Honest feedback appreciated! The raw takes are great, so any fault is my own. https://www.dropbox.com/s/3qarzxe9f0zlfbh/Things%20We%20Do%20-%20Remix%20v1%20-%20Brittain.mp3?dl=0

The only thing I can think of is that the vocal might have made me jump a little when it first comes in (this may just be me though or a preference thing!) Wonder if it could just be eased in volume wise (without losing it πŸ˜…) - given the peaceful nature of the intro and guitars. Once the vocal has started its all good. Probs just a first time listen thing!

on my mixing headphones the vocal is at a really nice level and out my speakers its a few db loud (but my room is currently a bit of a reverb cave! lacking treatment etc.)
Hoping to see replays (can't be there live)
I won't be able to attend live (due to work), so I'm hoping to watch the replays. Is getting to the replays easy? Intuitive? It's 11:26 pm so I'm off to bed. I'll check on a reply tomorrow evening. I'll miss you (sniff).
