This allows the underlying tones to subtly show through, creating depth and a more lifelike surface. • Oil Paint ShadingOil paints were used specifically for shadows and mid-tones. Their long working time allowed for smooth blending, soft transitions, and natural gradients in recessed areas such as wrinkles, eye sockets, and facial creases. • Controlled Redness & Color VariationSelective glazing of reds, purples, and warm browns was applied to areas of tension and blood flow, including the nose, cheeks, scars, lips, and brow.
