Needing Some Help
Hello everyone, I just have a few questions for everyone here. I'm stuck and really needing some helpful tips. I'm having such a hard time actually creating codes from scratch when Mae asks me to do them in the python coder. I can handle the basics but now that I have gotten further into the Software Engineering Principles classes, I'm suck, I'm still trying to use if elif else scenarios and I know that's not what it is asking for. I'm just lost and feeling defeated right now so if you guys have any helpful tips or any ways that you have used to help you through, please let me know. I hope everyone has a great Memorial Day!

Something Gemini said once when I was asking for ways to help make it all stick for me, really stuck with me. This is what it said; "Programming is about problem-solving and logic, not syntax memorization. Think of it like being a writer: you don't need to memorize the entire dictionary to write a great novel; you just need to know how to structure a story. In the exact same way, great software engineers focus on understanding concepts and architecture, knowing how to break a complex problem down into steps. When it comes to the exact syntax (like remembering the precise way to write a specific function or loop), that's exactly what documentation, references, and AI tools are there for. You are using the tools correctly by asking for a hint or a structural framework when you get stuck." It really helped as far as knowing I'm not expected to honestly remember every single piece of code I am learning (even though it feels like it at the moment). That being said, I know exactly how you feel. I often have to ask for the structure or a hint. It is the one part of learning coding that has been difficult. The only reason I have done okay on the reviews is that I haven't had to actually write any code from scratch, yet!
Cohort Count
So Far... June 1 2026 --------> 2 May 4 2026 ---------> 1 April 6 2026 ----------> 19 March 2 2026 --------> 12 February 2 2026 ------> 7 January 5 2026 ------> 5 December 1 2025 ------> 1 September 3 2025 ------> 1 October 2025 --------> 2 Also, unfortunately, now that we have different years, I will have to add a year to the tabs for the different cohorts, so we can't have the fancy names anymore... My apologies, especially to those who voted! We still have way more confirmed cohort counts to get, so please comment your cohort date and year for me when you get the chance, and thank you so much, guys! ❤️
