Saturday Watch Time ๐ŸŽฌ๐Ÿฟ
One of the topics on my lists to touch on during one of the Sunday Smarts is exactly this. Cadence. Itโ€™s talked about frequently by influencers, but so often theyโ€™re wrong (just like foot strikeโ€ฆ no, you donโ€™t need to change your foot strike, except if itโ€™s the reason behind your injuries, which you should probably let an expert evaluate). Anyway, hereโ€™s a good little lecture on it ๐Ÿ˜ฌ

Run Coaching | The Balanced Runner System | Applications Open
Iโ€™ve had a lot of conversations here with people who want to get fitter and more consistent with running. So Iโ€™ve put together something specifically for that. Monthly run coaching built around your life, focused on helping you become a stronger, fitter runner while staying injury-free. Iโ€™m opening a small number of spots (5) and wanted to share the full details with this community first. A couple of spots are already filled. ๐Ÿ‘‰ Full details: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1LkyLYOF9ejSO8dVjZKAEaiAsAuFYZx0epXiyN495fkU/

Very cool! If offered late summer I will consider this program. After my ear surgery I plan to do a reboot plan (possible from COROS) to restore some base fitness (6 weeks no activity for recovery ๐Ÿ˜’). Then I want to explore some coaching.
Tuesday Gear Thread
What's new in gear? Apparel you'd like to try? Shoes you wish you could give a go? Gadgets you wish dropped on your doormat? Or... maybe even fuel or nutrition? Let us know in the comments. I'll share my finds below! โฌ‡๏ธ

@Caroline Claassen One last point: The sole F80 and F85 both fold - they (as many of the treadmills in the same class) are heavy. The tread base comes in one piece and it is 325 to 350lbs and very difficult to move due to its size in tight quarters.

@Caroline Claassen I just bought my Wife a COROS Apex 4 (42mm). She primarily uses an Apple Watch (s10). In the past, she has used a few Garmins (fenix & forerunner) but she found it tedious for loading workouts and missed the interactivity of Fitness+ workouts. The COROS watch for her is mainly for runs in races, trail runs & hikes (maps). She can flip between the two as needed and use the Apple Health app to aggregate her data between the two devices. I donโ€™t think she will give up her AW completely. For some reason COROS had brand new Apex 4 units on woot.com $80 USD off! Impulse purchase LOL.

@Robert Gilbert I miss the Bay Area so much. Thanks for the view!
Music while running?
Whether Iโ€™m doing intervals or recovery runs I have been listening to mostly instrumental tracks either classical (especially nocturnes) or ambient (mostly ethereal background stuff). So for me it isnโ€™t about tempo. What is everyone listening to? Maybe share some playlist links.

@Caroline Claassen I also listen to some audiobooks and podcasts. Coach Bennett (Nike) is great for getting me going when Iโ€™m dragging. I also enjoyed listening to Stephen Kingโ€™s novel Fairy Tale. https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/coach-bennetts-podcast/id1692035962

@Jean Kool Based on the responses, Iโ€™m considering listening to more podcasts while running. Currently, Iโ€™ve been listening to a fictional series called Tower 4 (inspired by the video game Firewatch). The voice acting is just ok, but for some reason I am hooked. I may give that a listen on a recovery run.
