I always find it funny how the mind works, I'll overcome some irrational fear I have in one area, like sending a connect request to a potential client. Only to realize soon after there was nothing to worry about and it was all in my head. But then when it comes to another similar unknown, I hesitate. I seem to be able to learn a lesson and then forget it by the time the next challenge comes up. Having to continually face fears is the only way to grow. When I started I spent 30 minutes on a candidate (not a client) outreach message I was so full of fear and imposter syndrome that I sent the message and quickly closed my laptop. Now of course, I enjoy speaking with candidates. I have to shift focus to the client side and feel some of those fears coming up again. I know if I get that first one out of the way ill be golden.

@Jon Chintanaroad I really like that approach, I've always been a solid practice player, but struggled to transfer to games because I put so much pressure on the moment. With this mindset I'm not really trying to win or conquer anything or even preform there's freedom to allow myself to explore.

I made a mistake early on that made me not only reflect on my business but also my mindset and values. I was in a position where I set up a meeting with a client, I had a candidate already available who I was pitching. 5 minutes in they stopped me and said that the candidate has already applied to their company. I took that as a no, I was afraid going in to the call, and visibly nervous. I used that rejection as a way out and the call ended there. I sulked and convinced myself I wasn't cut out for this. A day later he called back, I didn't pick up the phone, I had so much fear and imposter syndrome that it was safer to just avoid the situation. I was scared of having to deliver on something I wasn't convinced I could.

Great video! I got a lot of value from this video, I have been approaching recruiting backwards, I find great candidates and then try to line them up with opportunities that I find. So my question is: What value do I have to bring a client when reaching out if I don't already have a pipeline filled with candidates, what is my leverage or offer?
