Hi Data Enthusiasts, I work as a data engineer, primarily focusing on the Microsoft platform. This year, I am looking to shift towards more freelance projects. I'm curious if anyone has experience transitioning from full-time employment to taking on independent, particularly remote, assignments. I aim to be location-independent and would appreciate hearing about your experiences. Additionally, if you have any tips, platforms, or potential employers in mind that offer remote data engineering work, especially those that are open to working with someone based in the Netherlands, I would be very grateful for your suggestions. It's one thing to read articles or watch videos about perfectly crafted data architectures and think you're way behind. But back here in reality, things get messy & nothing is ever perfect or 100% done. Most of us are usually working on architectures that are: - Old & outdated - Hacked together - Mid-migration to new tools - Non-existent Or perhaps you're one of the lucky ones that recently started from scratch and things are running smoothly.
