Keep Moving, Even When You Feel Stuck
Dear all, During a recent meditation, I had an experience that I'd like to share. I have always been aware of how strongly our emotions can influence our decisions, or sometimes prevent us from making any decision at all. Fear, demotivation, and doubt can keep us stuck for a long time. In my meditation, I saw a boat moving along a river. Everything was in sync, the boat an the river were flowing in the same direction, each with its own rhythm. Suddenly, a large stone appeared in front of the boat. At the moment, the boat had 2 options: It could acknowledge the obstacle and look for a way around it, or it could focus on the stone as a blockage, something negative that stopped its progress. Instead, it stayed still, overwhelmed by the obstacle. Then more 'stones'(emotions) began to appear, some in front, some behind, making the boat feel heavier and more stuck. Even though there were still possible paths around the obstacle, the boat could no longer see them. Eventually, under the weight of there emotions, the boat sank. To me, this represented the burnout or depression. No matter how many obstacles appears, there is always a way forward, even if we don't see it immediately. Like the river, which always finds its path, we can keep moving if we allow emotions to exit without letting them stop us. Now, when I feel blocked, I remember myself to keep going, even without a clear solutions yet, rather than becoming overwhelmed by the intensity of emotions. I am curious, what helps you move forward when you fell stuck and don't see a way out? If you fell the need to talk, feel free to reach out. As a coach, I 'd be happy to support you.
