🤖 AI is MORE than Chatbots!
When most people think of artificial intelligence, they picture chatbots or conversational models like ChatGPT. But AI is far broader than just language interfaces -- it’s an entire ecosystem of technologies that sense, reason, and act in the physical and digital world. These systems go beyond text; they integrate perception, movement, and decision-making to augment human capability and automate complex tasks. Take robotics, for example. Robots powered by AI can perceive their environment through sensors and cameras, plan actions using algorithms, and adapt their behavior as they learn. From warehouse automation at Amazon to surgical robots assisting doctors, these systems combine computer vision, reinforcement learning, and control theory to perform tasks once thought impossible for machines. Then there’s human augmentation, where AI enhances biological capability rather than replaces it. Think of neural interfaces that help paralyzed individuals move robotic limbs through brain signals, or AI-powered prosthetics that adjust in real time to terrain and motion. This convergence of AI, neuroscience, and bioengineering represents one of the most profound ways technology can extend human potential. Finally, AI’s reach extends into areas like autonomous systems (self-driving vehicles and drones), predictive maintenance in industry, and AI in healthcare for diagnostics and personalized treatment. Together, these fields illustrate that AI isn’t just about generating words -- it’s about building systems that perceive, decide, and collaborate with humans in ways that reshape how we live, work, and move through the world. -- Journey onward!

And yet I'm still trying to figure out HOW to implement it in my construction business. I know AI can do so much. I see where it could and should help us. But I'm not able to get traction on the specific steps to turn my creativity and vision into reality. Any direction or advice for a novice like me?
General Contractor from Montreal
Hi everyone! 👋 I'm a construction entrepreneur with a passion for psychology, fitness, and the outdoors. I'm new to AI—I've mostly explored Copilot and ChatGPT to brainstorm and write quick ideas. I'm here to learn how to automate my entire business: from marketing and sales to estimating, quantity takeoffs, and operations. 🎯 My ideal setup? Working 3 hours a day on the business, and spending the rest of my time learning, coaching, and taking care of my mind, heart, and body. 🤝 Support Needed: I’d love to connect with members who’ve already applied AI in construction and can help me build a clear, step-by-step path. Looking forward to learning and growing with you all! 🚀

@Nicholas Fudas Nice to connect! I think we should have a Master mind group for our area as there is a lot of specifics other regions don't.

@Len AIA Team Thx for your comment. It's motivating to get cheer up with tips alongside. Sure need more of this 🙏
Why Every Company Needs an “AI Operator” (Not Just an Engineer)
Most people think adopting AI means hiring engineers, coders, or prompt experts — but that’s not where the real leverage is. As Rachel Woods, founder of The AI Exchange and former Meta data scientist, explains in this clip: the businesses winning with AI aren’t the ones with the fanciest tech. They’re the ones with great processes — and someone who knows how to connect those processes to AI. She calls it the rise of the AI Operator — the person who understands your systems, sees opportunities for automation, and helps the team work smarter, not harder. This is the role every business will need in the next few years. Not an engineer. Not a data scientist. An AI Operator.

@Andrew Batchelor Thx for your reply. In my dreams, AI would be the answer to all technical, jurisdictions and know how questions that my teammates may have so we can build a collective and functioning brain. And that it is programmed, with time, to catch the steps that needs more attention before and while it's being executed so it prevents human failure. I've been in my field of work for 15 years and haven't been able to implement lasting progress for different reasons, starting by my lack of knowledge to make it happen and more lately, by burning out from years of try and fails (in short). I see what AI can do and hope to find valuable steps here so I can finally build something lasting.
