Been a bit errant on the reporting side but im still training Drax everyday....my main focus is Draxs friendly based reactivity towards other dogs. ..ive followed what to do on the video.. with direction and distraction his reactivity seems to be slightly lessening! Dogs are becoming less interesting to him and hes focusing more onto me....the game of "find me" is amazing... i now hide without calling him so hes constantly looking for me....very regular check ins. Still loads to do but i feel progress!!

Draxs friendly reactivity continues to be tricky! He IS getting better but is nowhere near where I want him to be. If I dont have him offlead playing ball and hide and seek then he bounces about all night like a loony with too much energy so i go to the quitest place i can find...moment i see a dog i distract him and this is slowly working....constant training .. sit..wait..lie down..middle..lead walk...rinse and repeat. Drax would be perfect if he was the only dog in rhe world!

Repetition repetition repetition! Draxs recall is getting better...checks in rewarded....find me works really well...he keeps checking in regularly... really working on Draxs reactivity..this will.not be a quick fix....as long as i see other dog first i can now distract him but its around corners is the issue...working on middle position which hes picking up well although yet to use it in real world....got to keep going!

Ok so now firmly focusing on Draxs reactivity towards dogs which is his biggest weakness. There was me thinking that Drax should be meeting all dogs for socialisation but I now know via Nick thats counter productive so im now taking action when we see dogs. .calling to heel with treat or distracting with squeaky ball which is already working well....I have to be great fun to engage Drax...he will now wait while i throw ball and only retrieve on my command...find me is a great game...started working on middle position which poses some logistical issues as Drax is so bloody big but hes picking that up now! I lead walk him every day (different equipment) and hes great. My aim by day 66 is to go to new parks with Drax off lead and im gonna get there!!! THANKS NICK B

Well there were 2 slight pauses in the training in last few days....Drax had dodgy stomach for 2 days so couldnt give the high value treats so bland chicken had to suffice..then Drax took it upon himself to murder a squirrel and was so heightened with bloodlust that I simply gave up that day but we march on.. Recall training...stop training...leadwalk training...Drax is getting better...everything is now a game and he checks in with me regularly..he will play with dogs then is pretty good at disengaging afterwards...could be far better though....just keep going! Really looking forward to decreasing his desire to meet every bloody dog in the world but hey one step at a time...
