Blurbs
Blurbs are not my strong suit. Marketing isn't either, go figure! That's why I am here. I have the template, and I have read dozens in my genre/trope fields for inspo. Many had notes at the end with tropes to expect, etc which I tried my hand at. I'm pretty sure it's still absolute crap. There are four books in this series. Today I'm asking for help with #1, Salty. It's a contemporary romance. The new cover is fab and to market. Please help me get the blurb up to snuff. Thank you. Blurb for Salty: Saoirse O’Brien built a tech empire alongside her husband—but when James dies under suspicious circumstances, she’s left struggling to keep both herself and O’Clair Tech afloat. Devastated by the cutting gossip of New York City’s elite and left alone to survive her grief, Saoirse distracts herself by chasing old familial secrets…all the way to Ireland. Kevin Powell gave up on women after his last girlfriend left his tender heart crippled. He was only supposed to be in Ireland for the weekend, but when Kevin learns the beauty he collided with at baggage claim is also staying on remote Arranmore Island, time away from busy London with the mysterious Saoirse is too enticing to pass up. Mesmerized, Kevin makes certain they continue to cross paths on the island, where their mutual curiosity upends both their worlds. Saoirse’s priority is saving her company. Kevin needs to reclaim the life his exe maliciously ripped away. Yet an easy friendship quickly takes root, nourished by the rich Irish heritage they share—and persisting long after they return to their sperate lives. Will either of them risk another heartache by allowing something truly exceptional to bloom across the Atlantic? *** Salty is a second chance contemporary romance with STEM vibes; filled with humor, healing, unrequited love, and a slow burn that will leave readers aching for their promised HEA. *** This is the first book in the Taste of Love series, featuring bold women in male dominated fields. They are interconnected standalones but best read in series.

@Monica Ross I don't know what happened, but none of the replies came through when I refreshed the site until today. Thank you for your thoughts! If you read the story, HER name is O'Brien, the dead husband is Sinclair, so it's a mash up of their last names. You aren't the first to say something of the like, which has me wondering, should I just delete the company name all together? I don't want it to be a distraction.

@Jennifer Jensen So, here is my issue... I keep bouncing around the units because my neurospicy brain genuinely doesn't know where I should start. You go into the blurb videos, and it's emphasized you should already know about genres/tropes and to start there. But at the end of the day, I think I'm so uncomfortable with this process, I'm stuck. Decision paralysis happens, but this is probably the worst It's been for me as an adult. I've been at this for months. No joke. I've written 120K word novels faster than I'm scraping together 150-200 words per book. That all said, thank you for your feedback. I'm floundering in the unit I finally settled on, so I think I will take your advise and switch gears. Perhaps a different approach to the information is what my brain needs to chill out and grasp the lesson. Although I'm going to be honest...I have studied other books for hours upon hours, and it's not helped a lick so far.

I'm mostly looking forward to the way the two of you make information digestible. I have tried many times to understand the things needed to run an ad, but it's always over my head. So for me, it's about taking in the information in small enough bites I can retain and understand it. At the end, I want to actually run an ad and not be terrified. Seems attainable!
