Robin and I ran some errands on the High Street and then went over to check out what was new at Rod’s Western. This was the second Saturday in a row I went with a Western look. I am wearing a Stetson Silverbelly Jameson, a black string tie, blue dress shirt, a darker blue waistcoat, Wrangler Cowboy cut jeans and burgundy Lucchese boots. I was also wearing a blue jacket over the ensemble as it was nippy. I took it off for the final picture. Rod’s was recently bought out by a Texas firm and I have never seen so many hats on the sale floor of the Tack building.

Brisk sub thirties day thoughtI would wear my new grey flannel trousers and my new deep plumb tie. The trousers are Samuelsohn double forward pleats I got from my old co Harold’s worker Steve Giles. When I picked it up Friday I stopped by another ex Harold’s guy’s store down in OKC named Steve Haggard and picked up a very nice wool challis plumb tie made by Robert Jenson an ex Robert Talbott designer who started his own firm. I added my Robert Talbott blue brown windowpane wool sportcoat I bought from a different old boss down in Edmond at McCalls a dozen years ago. A blue sea island cotton CT shirt and a Triona brown herringbone with blue acccent overlay vest I picked up in Donegal Ireland 7 years ago formed a base. Grabbed a wool pocket square in brown, with Pantherella socks, and finished the OOTD with 1982 Alden shell Cordovan shoes, and a late 1940s Ernest Borell wristwatch.

As we move into not only the first Sunday in Advent as well as rhe new church year the color on the alter moves from green to blue. So a lot of folks dressed in blue this morning as well. I wore blue as well, starting with a blue sportscoat with a subrle blue window pane, a blue striped shirt, a diamond point blue bow tie with brown and white stripes, brown trousers with a lighter blue blue pinstripe, blue socks and blue derby cap toe shoes. It was 40 degrees and raining so I wore my blue overcoat and the caribou Temple Fedora. After service folks decorated rhe church for the coming season. I am glad I had the overcoat as the temperature dropped to freezing by the time we left.
