Okay so the BACB is making a ton of changes and I wanted to break it down in a way that actually makes sense. January 2025- You can only hold one BACB certification at a time. New BCBA and BCaBA exams are live. RBT application is changing. January 2026- RBT supervisors must be BCBA or BCaBA certified. Huge RBT changes including new training new competency checks and recertification every two years instead of one. New RBT exam. UK residents cannot apply for new certifications. July 2026- Ontario cannot apply for BCBA anymore. January 2027- Major BCBA and BCaBA changes including degrees coursework fieldwork CEUs and supervision. Pathways 3 and 4 are gone for BCBA. Australia residents cannot apply. 2032- Only Pathway 1 will exist for BCBA meaning a degree from an accredited program. Bottom line if you are thinking about getting certified or leveling up do not wait. Requirements are getting stricter and some options are disappearing. Anyone else’s head spinning from all these changes. What worries you the most?
