Started my first hat
I used a silk and bamboo blend for the yarn. Since it is so slippery, I had to make the tension tight for it to work. I messed up 4 times with a looser tension and had to start over. I am going to make a long "I-cord" and put the pom pom on the end of that next. Here is where I am at this point and will start again tomorrow.

This is so much fun for me. I am really glad that I joined here. I am a master goldsmith/high-end jewelry designer since 1978 and have to be so very perfect with everything. Don't you just love the feeling of the yarn. I love it. So I have to ask - tropics sounds so exotic... I am 7500 feet up in the mountains of Colorado. Where might you be by the ocean. Oh I also could look at the map after I post this if you listed your place. Also have you shared any photos using the AU 5 ply sport blend? Would love to see it. Maybe you could share a link that you have posted here. I just tried to search your contributions to find one and sqw how much you post. LOL. No wonder you have a fire emoji. Cheers

Hat and scarf
Made a matching hat and scarf. Tension got a little off here and there. Had a dropped stitch to fix. Overall it went pretty well. I’m happy with the results.

For Fun
My daughter tried on the men's hat from the Knitmas Patterns but it was so big on her that she unfolded the brim up onto the hat itself. Now it looks like a Russian hat. Lol
