Mudras for relaxation 🙌🏻
Which Mudra do you use when meditating - to calm your mind and body? 🧘‍♂️ 🙌🏻 Both hands at the same time: This is standard when the goal is to calm the entire system. Provides symmetry in the nervous system More stable parasympathetic response Best for mind-wandering, inner unrest, overstimulation Apana Vayu, Chin and Shunya work most strongly this way. ✋🏻 One hand: Used when you want to influence direction, not just calm. - Right hand More active / outgoing / regulating Used if your thoughts are spinning, but your body is calm Can calm you mentally without making you heavy - Left hand More receptive / inward Used when your body is restless or "open" Good for sensitivity, emotional leakage, overstimulation 🧐 How to know what is right: If the system calms down quickly → both hands If something "chokes" or becomes flat → switch to one hand If your thoughts become sharper but not calmer → switch hands, not mudra

Very interesting! Thank you Merethe and Matthew! I go to Kundalini Yoga classes and their books and the teachings demonstrate numerous Mudras. They use Gyan Mudra for most of the situations at class. Gyan Mudra and many others help for inner seaking and practices while some Mudras like Dharmachakra Mudra helps altruistically. Interestingly, the Dharmachakra Mudra is a combination of two Gyan Mudras.

@Jason Ashby When I started I couldn't do it more than 3 rounds each, but now after having doing this for a few month, I do 21 round with ease and getting a little bit better little by little. There are slightly different versions/flavours by practitioners. I think it would grow with your own experience!

@Jason Ashby I started with 3 rounds then move to 5, 7, 9, 11 each week. Also I am doing Taichi practice and meditation in the morning and before sleeping.

Happy Sunday all , May you be blessed to know yourself so deeply that the old patterns and triggers cease to have any power, The energy is felt but through inner alchemy it is transmuted and held in the light and depth of your knowing and loving awareness. Today as you ponder this thought of the day remember to smile and give yourself the gift of being happy 😊 What is a boundary? Where does “you” end and “the world” begin? Is skin a limit, or just another sensation appearing in awareness? If everything we know appears within a single field, are we really separate from anything? Much peace , love and Blessing Matt 🙏♥️✨️
