Getting to know you
Let’s keep this simple. Drop something you’ve been working on recently - finished or not. Or even just say what kind of art you’re into 🫶🏽

@Rajan Seth I absolutely love vibrant, rich coastal colors. We travel to the USA gulf coast multiple times a year, and I always come back with more ideas. I "Dream" of these adventures 😁 This painting reminds me of an arial view of islands and the coast. I have an idea of commissioning paintings to reflect a client's personal experiences, perhaps a favorite or memorable trip, arial view 🤔 Im currently working on my website, inspired by the look and feel of yours! I love your social media!

@Ann Andrews Thank you!
Live q&a ..
Hey guys it would be amazing to get to know you better. I’m going to run a live session nextweek. It’ll be a mix of Q&A and getting to know you better. If you’ve got questions around abstract work, ink, texture, or anything you’re stuck on, bring them along. I’ve put up a poll for dates - vote for what works best 👍🏾

@Rajan Seth thanks! This is a completed painting where I used alcohol ink (not acrylic ink, and that could be my problem 🤔) It turned out decent, but I had to do little sections and tough to get the long flow. The ink also kept getting absorbed quickly by the primed canvas.I cant wait to try what you suggested! So excited to be a part of this group 😁

@Uresha Patel I use spackling or ready-mixed drywall joint compound. You can buy it at any of the home goods stores, very inexpensive and works great!
Everyone introduce yourself
I would love to know from you all : - what kind of art you do? and : - 1 thing that you have struggled with as an artist? I'll go first! I'm an artist focusing predominantly on abstract textured paintings, but more recently I have decided to paint things like flowers and faces. The things I have struggled with the most as an artist is knowing when to stop working on a painting, as sometimes I keep painting and then end up ruining it!

I typically do abstract on canvas. I use plaster-like substrates to create heavy texture and depth. I love metallics, foils, epoxy, alcohol inks. One of my struggles with starting to use alcohol inks is to get the ink to flow over any significant distance across the canvas. I have tried different alcohol/ink/water combinations but haven't found the right mix. I love the vibrant colors that alcohol inks bring to my work. The end of 2026 I will be stepping away from my sales career in Ohio, USA to focus on my art, so excited! Thank you for creating this group. I absolutely love the work you do! Shelly

My latest 3-peice canvas that shows my love for the gulf cost! Vibrant colors. Does anyone have an opinion on framing them? I like how they flow together without a frame, but not sure?

I am retiring at the end of 2026 and pursuing my love of art! I create abstract art, typically on canvas. Creating deep texture with vibrant colors.
