📖 Why tarbiyah starts with the Qur'ān?!
🌱 Tarbiyah without the Qur'ān is just self-help with Arabic vocabulary. The Qur'ān isn't only a book to recite, it's the curriculum Allāh designed to shape hearts, refine character, and raise believers. Start small: - Recite daily, even before understanding. - Live one āyah a week. Use it as a 🪞 mirror, not a trophy 🏆 Make it the center of your home, not a shelf decoration. This is how the Ṣaḥābah (may Allāh be pleased with them) were raised 💟 — it still works! 📲 Check full post on: https://www.instagram.com/p/DY4i0x1DdaM/?igsh=MW1nZ3g0amJ0ZGQydA== <<or>> ‎ https://vm.tiktok.com/ZNRWfrWB5/ ... and share with you family & friends 💟

SubhanAllah a very striking reminder, Jazakallahukhair. This is completely consistent with much of the advice around how the Qur’an ought to be approached, how the sahaba and the early generations approached it but the question is can we do both? How can we make use of the young child’s sponge like memory which often leads down the path of intense daily hifdh and that’s where we find the correct and ideal approach being compromised. Our generation of parents have really assigned a great deal of importance to hifdh (for various reasons I think) and Alhamdulilah it is now fairly normalised amongst much of our community. However, we haven’t necessarily understood how to achieve the correct balance.

Jazakallahukhair for sharing, sadly I couldn’t make that session.

Assalaamu’alaikum, in an ideal world the response would be ‘every interaction’! If Tarbiyyah is holistic nurturing and development then every chat, every outing, every family discussion, story, trip to the masjid would be part of that Tarbiyyah. There is a reality to so many factors informing the development of your child vs the intentional use of opportunities to inculcate what you are striving to, so rather than the ‘methods’ we have to reframe our thinking to being ‘tarbiyya aware’ so that whatever means and methods we have at our disposal we are seeking to maximise their use as a tool.
