Hello! I'm Shayla, an Australian urban fantasy author with no experience with ads. I usually sell in person at events but that's been harder with a toddler. I am also finishing my PhD this month and so while I probably don't have the time, I've joined this group fresh as a commitment to what I want out of 2026 - to focus on making my author career sustainable. I have two unfinished series, with the first completing in 2026, and no central romance in either of them. This works for me at comic cons but seems to work against me online - looking to turn that around.

My timing with joining this community is terrible (final weeks of PhD, send help) and I'm already behind, BUT I feel so reassured just knowing I'm in this space and the information is here. I really value the flexible and asynchronous pace. I will have so much to delve into over the coming weeks ♥️
