Hey! I'm Shayla, from South Carolina. For fun I run a Skool community for fiction writers called Quil Authors Guild. It's themed around my favorite witch show, Charmed. So yes, I basically live in writer spaces even when I'm not writing. Right now I'm drafting The Hidden Daughter, a dark coastal gothic fantasy. My main character is a fire witch named Nova whose magic is starting to mutate into something she can't control. She's hiding it from her coven, hiding it from her friends, and then there's this boy who keeps seeing straight through her. I'm in Chapter 4 right now, sitting with how the coastal fog of Hollow Creek mirrors what it actually feels like to carry a secret that could destroy everything. Glad to be here.
