Happy New Year from an Old Friend in the Group!
Hey everyone in the Beau's eBay Clothing Resellers group! I know I've been MIA for the past six months or so—life got a bit hectic, as I jumped headfirst into a new reselling liquidation venture. I was buying truckloads from major retailers and selling inventory off through a local auction platform & FB marketplace in a 8000 sq ft warehouse. After crunching numbers to find the losses, I realized my long hours and constant business meetings with a partner that did not understand finance... it was better to close the warehouse and take a "L" in 2025. Long story short, sometimes it better just to do things by yourself. But as we kick the curb to 2025, I wanted to pop back in and wish you all a fantastic Happy New Year! Here's to a year filled with amazing finds, booming sales, and plenty of those "sold" notifications. May your sourcing be prosperous, your margins be fat, and your sales be plentiful. I've missed the tips, stories, and camaraderie here—hoping to jump back in and catch up soon! I'll be gearing up to grow my eBay store (currently at 1500 unique listings). I can't wait to reach my goal of 50-80 listings a day as I learn a few new things with AI to speed up the process. My 3-month goal is to make eBay back to $3000+ net profit a month. Who knows Beau, I may even join the fun over on whatnot in 2026! Maybe I should Vlog my journey on YouTube. Cheers to fresh starts and prosperous flips!

How much is too much?
What is the highest Average COG's you think you could handle in your reselling business? Focusing on clothing sales, and I don't mean a one time item you pay up on, but your running average? Is it $3, $4, $5, $7, or more? I know I try to keep mine below $5. It has been creeping up though.

@Jerry Wilson , I'm pretty sure these are all fakes. I've run across this so many times in Phoenix. (China). Here's a good reference site to learn the difference from the real vs fake> How to Spot Fake Air Jordans - Don't Get Ripped off!
Anyone selling golf clubs on eBay?
I recently sold a very old listing of a golf club. I would honestly sell a lot more golf clubs if I would find better ways to package them. If you are selling clubs, or set of clubs, what are you using for packaging, and what carrier do you use? Any other tips would be great.

just tape 2 of these PRIORITY BOXES together (allowed). I use duck tape so it's strong and secure.
Really interesting Goodwill article with CEO

@Joann Defelici Absolutely, if they wanted to continue with the mission of keeping clothing from the landfills... they would not mark "DONATED Clothing" for about the same price as a retail store. Then talk about pricing Resalers out of the market using their new AI tech in other blogs. Goodwill's CEO's makes a staggering amount in salary & other compensations. Goodwill is made up of 155 autonomous organizations, each with their own executive compensation. The most senior executive at each organization receives between $370,000 and $1,250,000 annually. To be honest, Goodwill lost their way many years ago. The Mission to help those in need with low-cost items. These CEO's at Goodwill forget us re-salers have COG while they paid nothing for their merchandise. I will not give the retail side of Goodwill any business -- only the bins.
Don't be afraid to crosslist
I've heard a few ask and read others comment in negative way on this topic. I want you all to know, if it wasn't for crosslisting many of my items would still be on eBay. I list with the same information, pictures, title, and price from eBay to Poshmark to Depop. So far I am selling 75% on eBay, 20% on Poshmark, and 5% on Depop. Biggest category on Depop is footwear. Poshmark is a cross be tween seasonal items and clothing and shoes but not a lot in the seasonal. eBay has been selling within and outside of the clothing category, which is helping me get rid of what I don't want to purchase for listings in the future. Mercari has been in the game with miscellaneous items, seasonal, and collectibles. Yes I pay $70 a month for AutoPosher but it shows me everything financially at a glance, and it is a true VA. I am the only one running my business. So if it means paying a VA $70 and truly be helping me grow, then I will pay the $70 to AutoPosher versus and human being that I will have to look over their shoulder to meet my expectations.

Can I ask how big your stores are? I am considering using a crosslister service like autoposher. However, I've only have eBay and not familiar with the other platforms. I'm also not sure we are large enough yet. Any tips I should know? Our eBay store has about 1800 items currently

@Jerry Wilson Anything important to know in regard to the shipping on POSH / Depop? Also pricing of products on those platforms vs eBay. Do you need to adjust that as well in your experience. After a couple decades on eBay... I have that down. However, as Autoposher does the crosslisting - I was more concerned with shipping charges on those platforms vs eBay and if we had to adjust all the pricing.
