Time
The Principle of Time -‐ There is no process that does not require time. That is one of the 33 principles of chiropractic - Principle Number 6. If you have been working on your health for some time and you aren't seeing results - first, give yourself some grace. Then take a look at what you are doing and see if there are other ways to go about it or to improve the process. Healing takes time. Growth takes time. Making new health habits takes time. What are you working on that is taking more time than you expected? Share with the group the following: 1. What you are working on? 2. How long it has been taking? 3. Why do you think it is taking so long? 4. What are you committed to doing as it relates to the concept of "health takes time?"

1. Building muscle 2. Last 2 years of actively working on it 3. Inconsistent training - since I travel so much, and often overseas, it has been difficult to have a steady workout routine. However, I've noticed that that has been my excuse since I have now seen some of my other friends who are also traveling internationally and are still fit. I realized they just make it a priority to get their workouts in - even if it is for 20-30 minutes of weight training - they STILL make it happen. 4. I'm committed to being physically active for at least 30 minutes per day for at least 5 days per week - be it aerobic exercise or weight training.
Tradition! Tradition!
What cultural traditions did you grow up with around food? Maybe it was around celebrations or weekly Sunday gathering with the family. Share it with the group and what you enjoyed about those traditions.

For me, I enjoyed hot pot when the weather turned cold since this was the meal I didn't have to eat rice. As a Taiwanese American, we ate rice for practically every meal. I wasn't allowed to leave the table until every grain of rice was consumed out of my bowl. But when it was hot pot time, I didn't have to eat rice on those nights. It was great for me growing up because of my association with rice. Now as an adult, I can't get enough rice with my meals sometimes. While I now have a variety of foods - not just Asian cuisine - I now limit my starch intake as much as possible - but when the fresh baked baguette in Paris is calling, it calls very loudly. LOL!
